Recently, I visited an amazing event called Pet Expo in Queen Sirikit National Convention Center. I shared dogs in my last post in Photography Lovers. It's time to show cats. 😻
This year, Pet Expo has been visited by 188 thousands of people and hundreds of animals. Among visitors and participants, there were not only dogs and cats but also parrots, snakes, rabbits, guinea pigs, and even beetles. 😀
Of course, most cats didn't feel comfortable far from home, at such a noisy overcrowded place.
Their carriages or pet bags were the only island with the solid ground to them, with familiar relief and smells. Everything else looked a dizzying, deafening, frightening carousel of pictures and smells.
However, I have a guess that many of them have had positive experience at Pet Expo. All these smells and sounds, meeting other cats, dogs, goats, reptiles... make cats feel they have saturated life and develops their intuition. Afterwards, they will digest the horror into something useful and warm... I hope so.
But, look, some cats were quite happy at the event:
This one was in a large 2-floor carriage with two other feline mates. This probably helped the cat to feel comfortable.
This cat was hidden by the curtains of his owner's beautiful hair.
What passion in this look and hug. 😀
Another one that was finding peace in the physical contact with her owner.
And this couple of British cats just have armor-piercing zen. 😄
I couldn't be happier at Pet Expo since people didn't mind being photographed or even were happy about that. In the meantime, I kept repeating the "photograph relationships" mantra so as not to delve into photographing animals isolated from interaction with the outside world. After all, the relationship with the owner or other animals or an attitude to the event creates a story behind the photo. I hope I managed to take some images of that kind.
These people and their chubby cat have the same shape, isn't this cute? 🙂
And this was the specialty of the event I especially enjoyed:
Cats riding hoomans' backs are often a ready-to-serve story behind the image. It's also alters the habitual (i.e. predictable) the top-down perspective we usually look at felines.
Love how the owner's shirt is in harmony with the background. And of course, that Maine Coon is simply gorgeous.
I am not a fan of clothes on cats but, this time, I was impressed how the garment fits the individuality of the cat. I thought she would be appropriate to star in Harry Potter movies.
And this is the last photo with the warm cat look at parting. 🙂
What cat is the cutest in your opinion? Share in the comment section! 😀
Thank you for stopping by, reading/watching, and supporting! 🙂

I took the images on August 12, 2023 with a Nikkor 50mm f/1.8G on a full frame Nikon D750 in Bangkok, Thailand.
