President Ho Chi Minh is a great man who lives forever in our cause (Google translation of the banner's slogan):
This is the Culture and Information Center in Hue, Vietnam, where you can learn all about comrade Ho Chi Minh. I checked images on the Google Maps, and, yeah, they have a lot of red inside and a golden monument of Ho Chi Minh; and these cute children's cars outside:
Love the city! Sharing why + images taken with a 50mm lens on a full-frame Nikon on September 15-16, 2024.
Firstly, Hue is rather big with many places for street photography. For example, I found two large Catholic temples worth visiting, especially during events.

Secondly, the lively nightlife is present in the city. Although I don't feel much interested in partying or drinking in bars, I do prefer cities that don't sleep after 9 pm.

They have a walking street in Hue with a good selection of bars

Thirdly, there are amazing historical buildings here: temples, palaces, and tombs of emperors.
At the same time, people aren't spoiled by tourism. (But it doesn't mean you should completely relax: know real prices, ask how much you should pay before getting food or buying anything else.)
Worth mentioning that food is inexpensive in Hue: I found a lovely local restaurant and pay 30.000 dong (1.2$) for super delicious rice with chicken with lecho-like spicy chili sauce!
Hue road traffic isn't mad as in Hanoi / Saigon, there are many cheap hostels, and a huge hypermarket with cheap fruits, toiletries, clothes, etc. Heaven! 😊
Amazing hypermarket GO! Fresh baguettes, my favorite guava and avocado for 1-1.2$ for kg. (Cooked food in the food court isn't great though.)
Moreover, the city has bird-watching potential: old parks, many fruit trees on streets (unlike Saigon and Da Nang), and canals with vegetation. So I hope to resume my activity in amazing C/Feathered Friends, 😎
The con is that it's the rainy season here and there might be few sunny days but, from the point of photography, rain can be an opportunity.
Look at this lovely baby under mom's poncho:
But they cover with their ponchos not only kids:
Fun, isn't it? 😀
That's a 50mm lens, I was shooting from a distance of half a meter 😄
And more opportunities are coming (source: vietnamnet.vn):
But no worries, I stay on the third floor of a stone building, and Hue isn't a seaside city. As for potential flying trees and stuff, Vietnamese crazy road traffic anyway keeps being the main disaster in this country. 😁 Seriously speaking, the week will be rainy and, probably, nothing else.
Continuing the theme of natural phenomena, look at this sunset at the Perfume River:
Loved how the red bus took the role of the sun.
