I respect this holiday very much! Everywhere you look in the mountains - flowers, freshness, beauty. It is not for nothing that the Bulgarians have invented it since ancient times, that it should be exactly on this date! I went up past Buzludzha, went down past the village of Ezeroto straight to Etara, took some pictures just for fun. There weren't many events, but even if there were after lunch, I didn't wait for them, because it got very hot, and I didn't have one of those magic handkerchiefs that old people put on their heads to avoid the sun :D Then I passed through h.Bulgarka, turned through "Ushite" again up and finally got down to Enina. Nice, regional excursion! Here's what I saw...
According to the people, the beginning of winter begins on New Year's Day. The belief says that on the morning of the holiday, when it rises, the Sun "twinkles", "plays" and whoever sees it will be healthy throughout the year. Just at sunrise, each must turn to face the sun and look over his shoulder at his own. The shadow must be seen whole, this means that the person will be healthy. It is also believed that at the sunrise of New Year's Day, all the collected herbs have a stronger effect.
After the end of the holiday, although late, I also headed to the forest with the idea of looking for the only herb I know, "Yellow St. John's wort". Unfortunately, I didn't find one, but I managed to enjoy the beautiful views and take some good shots.
That's all from me for today. I hope you enjoyed my photos. See you soon.
