It was a long long day, filled with adventures and discoveries. Remember, we found dusty and loud huge granite quarry, and a mysterious lake above the ground level with incredible color of water where I had a clear chance to drawn. And another one most vivid colors I've ever seen. I took a lot of shots. But the plan was to spend the evening on the shore of a beautiful forest lake, listening to birds singing, whispering water and watching the sunset.
I've found an old travel story on the net a while ago. It may appear a quite ordinal but there were something I's just in love instantly: a mysterious Ilmenite lakes. I said to myself I donβt care what it means but I must see it! ππ€©
My spirit of adventures inspired my hubby Nick as well, so we extracted what we like the most and got a wonderful 1-day journey. All information we had was the direction and a couple of coordinates, and it wasn't clear what do they point at. Challenge accepted! And we set off.
On the way we saw many interesting places. Like these sand hills. This frame could be a part of desert landscape...
But it's some industrial object, I suppose. Anyway, it made me wanted to stop and take a few more shots. Anyway, my shows and cloths and the car - everything already got dirty with sand and dust :D
Next, the road brought us to the beautiful woods. According to the map, here were lake somewhere there, and we stopped again to check it out.
It was really nice in the shadow of pines.
But the lake wasn't the one we looked for. Well, the sun is still high on the horyzon, let's move on.
The last coordinates has been located here. Okay, I assume there may be some bias or inaccuracy. But ... what a hell? There's only sand all around, again.
Or... The lake can be somewhere there, at the end of this sand horyzon? We agreed to drive forward a little along the trees and check again.
It was a lucky guess. We saw a corder and stopped the car there.
Oh, what a shame... Can this place be a lake 10 years ago? What on earth had happened to it? Sure I'm aware of climate changes but, man, it's too quick. And it's still Ukraine, the north of the country.
I was upset and disappointed. But the surroundings still looked exciting. Since we're here, let's explore it.
Man, we're on the Tatooine!
From the close, it looks like an alient landscape. Something from Star Wars or Mandalorian.
Oh, look, it's a spare part frpm the space ship that chash-landed here. And it could be the reason why the lake almost disappeared...
I looked at the ground and kept asking myself - how long ago this lake was dried up?
All right. This place is too sad for an evening zen. But none of us was feeling like returning home. And no more ideas where to go, so we just wandered around all corners taking shots. Then all of a sudden...
... WATER!
This is it, the lake hiding in plane sight! Yohooo!!!
Gosh, it's so nice here, at last I can stop, and sit, and relax a little.
The strong wind blowing all the day has finally went down, like it was also tired by the end of the day. The clouds, the sky and sun beams, reflection and glow of the water, everything here made a perfect end of the long and splendid day.
I wish your day to be perfect too, and Thanks for visiting!
Wait, what about ilmenite, and what is it, after all?? Well, it's fair. Ilmenite is a titanium oxide, it also has a lot of iron, and ... something concerning magnetite ... or magnetism. I can say for sure that I definitely felt the magnetism π π And you? ;o)
