Booker dropped 42. Middleton dropped 40. Wow... That was such a back and forth game, it only makes sense that the two leading scorers from either team would be so close in production.
Middleton shot 15-33 from the field and Booker shot 17-28. Clearly Booker was the more efficient shooter last night, but Middleton finished the game strong and brought his team the win with 6 points in the last 30 seconds or so of the game. These two were putting on such a dazzling display last night that the refs swallowed their whistles when Booker wrapped up Jrue Holiday late in the game on a play that would have given him his sixth and final foul of the night. Perhaps was not too off by saying the NBA is in it for the ratings/money, this was a clear miss by the refs to keep the best player of the night in the game longer; I did not mind too much though as we got to see more quality play from the league's best.
These are two fantastic players who also luckily enough for the Americans reading this, will be joining team USA in Tokyo once the NBA finals come to a finish. Hopefully the scoring prowess of these two guys can help team USA actually win a game... LOL
I'm thinking that this series may reach 7 games, but if we are lucky enough to see wild shooting performances like these for the rest of the series, I surely would not mind watching more!
