After playing Rising Star for a bit I realized my energy use was the most import resource I could manage. It regenerates over time but you can also recharge it. I would often find a discarded slice of pizza, which refills your energy, after only using 15% or 30%. Refilling this to maximum while its 85% wastes most of the benefit of the pizza. As suggested in the game, you can buy a pizza box to save your slice. This way you can refill your energy when it is low instead of almost full already. Doing this early on will help you work thru the missions quicker.
You should be able to pick one up in the market for about 7500 starbits. Currently that is equal to about $1.20 or 1 hive token.
Picking up a few packs of cards is also very helpful. I often struggled with having enough fans to be able to complete missions. A few cards can make a huge difference. If you like the game and want to advance you are going to need some fans.
