Since May, I have been creating a playlist to keep track of the latest songs I have discussed in my posts. This will help me keep track of the songs I have used so I dont end up repeating them. The last song I talked about in my last post is: Ella Me Pide Sexo from the artist Mak Donal.
Last Nite: The Strokes
My song of choice on Spotify for today's post is Last Nite from the iconic band called The Strokes.
From a very young age, I was always surrounded by rock music, both national and international. English bands played in my house thanks to my mother's influence, who listened to a bit of everything in her teens. But if there's one thing that cemented my love for international rock, it was video games.
I got most of this music from a game that was very important to me, the iconic Guitar Hero III. It introduced me to songs that I would never have sought out on my own. I remember spending hours trying to complete songs on expert mode with a guitar accessory that I had bought exclusively for the game.
If I'm not mistaken, Last Nite by The Strokes doesn't appear in the video game, but it has a vibe that's quite similar to what appears in it. The truth is that I found it very recently when I was reviewing recommendations that Spotify made to me in each of the playlists I had... It's a song I had heard several times before and it brought me a bit of nostalgia from a while ago.
The Strokes was an American rock band formed in the late 1990s in New York City. It consists of lead singer Julian Casablancas, Nick Valensi, guitarist Albert Hammond Jr., bassist Nikolai Fraiture, and drummer Fabrizio Moretti. It is currently one of the most recognized rock bands of recent times.
Their first album was released in 2001 and was titled Is This It... This album was a worldwide success, thanks to several hits such as Is This Is, The Modern Age, Soma, Barely Legal, Someday, Hard To Explain, Take It Or Leave It, and the song I have selected for today's post: Last Nite.
