Hello, everyone! Today I will be continue to share high-quality songs, share how I discovered them, and share some interesting facts about them. To top it all off, I will also include several tables with the statistics compiled by the Rising Star game.
Since May, I have been creating a playlist to keep track of the latest songs I have discussed in my posts. This will help me keep track of the songs I have used so I dont end up repeating them. The last song I talked about in my last post is: Poison from the american band Bell Biv Devoe .
Low Rider: War
My song of choice on Spotify for today's post is Low Rider from the iconic american band War.
Once again, I end up talking about a song I discovered thanks to one of my favorite video games of all time: Grand Theft Auto San Andreas. At this point, it's no surprise that much of my musical taste comes from there, because I always come back to the same place.
In this case, Low Rider is a song I also discovered while playing GTA San Andreas, but the funny thing is that I had heard it long before during my childhood. Before San Andreas, I played a video game that was a competitor to the Grand Theft Auto series, called Driver. I heard it for the first time in that game, and even though I was young and didn't understand much, its instrumental stayed in my mind.
I recently heard it again, and it brought back some nostalgia for my childhood... Not only because of its appearance in the Driver video game series, but also because it's part of the jingle for one of the most popular telephone companies in Argentina: Claro. After doing a little more research, it turns out that it's not exactly the same song, but rather several songs with the same instrumental that has become a classic in the music industry.
The truth is that discovering the band War not only led me to discover the song Lowrider, but also gave me the opportunity to discover other great songs such as Why Can't We Be Friends, which I had heard before, and Spill The Wine.
War is a well-known band from the United States that enjoyed success in the 70s and 80s. The band consisted of the following members: Lonnie Jordan, Howard Scott, Lee Oskar, Harold Brown, Papa Dee, and Charles Miller.
The first album to achieve local success was The World Is A Ghetto, released in 2002, which featured several well-known songs such as Cisco Kid and The World Is A Ghetto. However, this would not be their most famous album. Three years later (in 1975), they released Why Can't We Be Friends, which would take the band to its peak, gaining worldwide recognition thanks to the songs Why Can't We Be Friends and my choice today, Lowrider.
