Dirty Dancing is the original soundtrack to the 1987 film Dirty Dancing and was released on August 4, 1987 by RCA Records. The Dirty Dancing Album sold 32 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best-selling albums of all time. It was also the best-selling soundtrack album at the time, but The Bodyguard album, released in 1992, became the best-selling soundtrack album of all time. Currently, Dirty Dancing is the 2nd best-selling soundtrack album and the 14th best-selling album worldwide.

The Dirty Dancing album spent 18 weeks at number one on the Billboard 200 chart in the United States and was certified 14 times Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The album was a commercial success worldwide, and became the best-selling album of all time in Germany, with shipments of at least 3.25 million copies. Additionally, the follow-up album, More Dirty Dancing, was released in March 1988. and the album Ultimate Dirty Dancing was released in December 2003, and contains every song from the motion picture Dirty Dancing in the order it appears in the film. But they were not as commercially successful as the original album. Additionally, due to a strong resurgence of vinyl record sales, for the film's 30th anniversary in 2017, Dirty Dancing received a Blu-Ray remaster with a 5.1 surround soundtrack and a vinyl reissue with previously unreleased material.

Dirty Dancing is a 1987 American romantic drama dance movie written by Eleanor Bergstein, produced by Linda Gottlieb and directed by Emile Ardolino, and starring Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey. The film tells the story of Frances "Baby" Houseman (Jennifer Grey), a young woman who falls in love with dance instructor Johnny Castle (Patrick Swayze) at a vacation resort.

Frankly, I can say that I liked the movie and its soundtrack, I think it was one of the best dance movies of the time. Many of the movie soundtracks were great. If I had to choose one, I'd say "Be My Baby". The Ronettes' song "Be My Baby" plays during the opening credits of Dirty Dancing, and it's the iconic song that sets up this iconic movie perfectly. The song "Be My Baby" is a plea to love.
