Last week I had a RisingStar Game contest and put up a rare Stacy card as the prize. I changed up the rules a bit for that giveaway because of the rarity of the card. Let's take a look at the requirements for the Stacy card giveaway:
In order to qualify for this giveaway, comment below and tell me your favorite musician (it can be a solo artist, band, group, etc.) and you'll get one entry. If you happen to name one of my top 3 favorites, I'll multiply your entries in the drawing to 10 (and share my top 3 favorite musicians in the next post)! Limit of one comment entry per person, and you can only name one musician. Entries will be accepted until October 27, 2021.
There were a total of 11 entries in the comments on that post that included the name of their favorite musician. As promised, I will reveal my top 3 favorite musicians, and also let you know that nobody has the same favorites as me. Honestly, most people are shocked when they find out who my favorite artists are.
My Top 3 Favorite Musicians
#1) Eminem - I've been an Eminem Stan since middle school when I first heard his breakout single, My Name Is. One of the most amazing concert experiences of my life was attending the Home & Home tour with Eminem & Jay-Z in Detroit, MI. Dr. Dre, D-12, 50 Cent, and more special guests showed up for a once-in-a-lifetime event.
#2) Everclear - This is another favorite of mine since first hearing their hit single Santa Monica in the 90's. In fact, I'd probably be considered a groupie for this band and at least one of the members knows my name on sight. When they toured a few years ago I purchased a VIP ticket that gave me side-stage access but it turned out the venue didn't have a side-stage area so I got to be ON stage with the band for their entire performance. This was another once-in-a-lifetime experience for me and Freddy even let me strum the final chord of the show on his bass. The looks I got from the people in the crowd wanting to know how the hell I was up there, were priceless! I was also able to hang out in their tour bus before the show. Art and Freddy are two of the nicest guys in the business and I love supporting their work anytime I can!
#3) Lil Nas X - This is a brand new addition to my favorites list. I just can't get enough of this guy! I'll be honest, when Old Town Road first came out, I changed the radio station or skipped the track because I just couldn't understand the popularity. Then he dropped some more singles including Montero and Industry Baby and I was hooked. Now, going back to listen to the Billy Ray Cyrus feature version of Old Town Road and I actually like it. I'm a huge fan of the Industry Baby collaboration with Jack Harlow. There's also something to be said for the way that Lil Nas X rose out of obscurity to then become the artist with the record for the fastest a song has reached RIAA Diamond status. His first album, Montero, is also one of the few that I actually enjoy listening to from start to finish without skipping a track. I look forward to seeing more from him in the coming years.
Card Giveaway
Okay, now that I got my top 3 out of the way, let's see who won the rare card giveaway!
R87 Stacy:
Congratulations on your big win! You listed your favorite musician as Freddie Mercury, great choice! Queen was a rock powerhouse.
New Pack Opening
I wasn't sure if I'd continue my card opening and giveaway series after opening my 12th pack last time. But, I've decided to keep going and buy another 12-pack of cards and keep up a weekly giveaway post. Let's take a look at the next three packs I'm opening:
Pack 1:
This is my first R97 Nanny and it brings 50 luck with it. I've also never received a i38 RS Micro Smith but have a few 42 Brodie cards already.
Pack 2:
I love the background of the R100 Pixie card! This is the first one I've gotten before and it comes with 200 fans, 100 skill, and 10 luck! Jerome and Cheap Car are both duplicates for me.
Pack 3:
Another cool Rare card here with the R89 Mouse. This card comes with 125 fans, 150 skill, and 4 luck! This is actually a duplicate for me too! It's nice to have a duplicate rare card for the first time. The Kithara instrument is a new one for me and looks pretty cool, bringing with it 5 more luck.
New Giveaway!
Since I have a few extra Brodie cards, let's put them up for this week's giveaway. I will pick two (2) winners to each win one (1) Brodie card. In order to qualify for this giveaway, please leave a comment with your Rising Star username AND mention a time you got to meet one of your favorite musicians... or, if you've never met them before, you can comment something about one of my top 3 favorite artists/musicians that I wrote about earlier. Don't worry, you won't hurt my feelings if you say something bad lol
If you leave an especially great comment, I'll upvote and send you a slice of PIZZA too!
Entries will be accepted until November 4, 2021.
The winners will receive a 42 Brodie musician card:
