I have been playing since the early days, although I was not in right at the start. Since then I have played it just about every day and have accumulated nearly 12,000 cards.
I am currently on level 783.
All that means I have a lot of fans, but the current total includes about 80,000 drunks. That contributes to my ego, which can reduce my earning ability, but is not too bad for now. I just do a lesson or two each day to keep the ego under control. I have amassed the cards I need to get more skill from those, largely through trading. Trading does involve trust, but you can just buy on the market if you want to guarantee getting the cards.
I buy a load of packs each week and also buy some individual cards as I like to try and get as many unique ones as possible. I have been in the top three for unique cards for a while, but recently I slipped to fourth. I can live with that. I have been lucky to gain a fair few of the legendary cards, but they are so rare and expensive that I may have to accept I will not get them all. They include the card with me on it that would be the last I would consider selling. New cards are released each month and I try to get most of them.
With all this I can get a over 10,000 Starbits for a five minute mission. I run lots of those each day, but I also have to get other things done and so run longer missions too. That will include the Fan Club mission. I only have the first seven cards so far, but I see four people have the full set. That requires 700 hours of missions!
I am still trying to get at least all the crafted production cards. I am seven short and all need the gold panels, which seem to be the rarest parts. Maybe when I have them all I will try to get the other sets too. I wonder if we will see crafting of other types of instrument eventually.
My unique count is also boosted by buying music NFTs, which supports the musicians. I will look at getting more of those soon. As with other aspects of Hive it does not all have to be about personal gain. We have the opportunity to help out other people.
A lot of what I make gets ploughed back into the game, but I am using some to boost other aspects of my Hive portfolio. I am always looking to get more HP to increase the value of my vote and I can sell Starbits for HIVE.
There have been some changes to the rules of the game this week. I can see these are intended to deal with people who try to farm the rewards using multiple accounts, possibly between several owners. The developer sees this as bad for the game, which he intended to primarily for fun. I would hope that most players who just use one account will not have to worry about these changes. Having people accept the rules means that they can be shut out if they are found to be cheating. There are well over 7,000 players now and so identifying rule-breaking may not be simple, but it is important to have everything stated and clear so there are no excuses.
I hope to see more developments in the game soon. Various features have been teased including a record collector card, uses for spare crafting parts and also uses for fan club cards. The developer Jux has a long to-do list, but it is mainly him working on it as well as keeping everything running and doing various radio shows. We need to be patient.
Start playing Rising Star.
Rock on!
