Reasons Rising star is MORE than a game
It can replace clocks and watches! Leave your watch in a drawer and use the in game mission timer as your primary way to keep time!
Task Management and Productivity. Taking #1 a bit further - why not use the mission timer as a guideline for your todo list. You could group your tasks into those taking 5 mins, 15 mins, 30 mins, 60 mins, 200 mins etc. And make sure you only allow yourself the time when the appropriate RS mission is running to do them! The ultimate task management application is here folks!
You can and SHOULD base your entire social life around it. There are Twitch streams with RS giveaways almost 24/7, the Discord server, and the highlight of everyone's social calendar - Radio Evolved om Sunday nights!
Rising Star is a great indicator of dating suitability. I've come to the conclusion that (if I were single which I'm not) then a basic compatibility requirement I would gave in future is top 100 membership on the Rising Star leaderboard. You could look at all the other stats too - maybe it's fans that float your boat or you find people with a lot of skill super sexy? Personally I like someone with a lot of luck.
There is a TDC Tunes legendary card and a TDC Tunes Modular Synth instrument card. How can you not take it super seriously when the so called game has these in?
It's group therapy! There's nothing like where there is an occasional cough 502 Bad Gateway error happens and the community comes together in the Discord channel and well... basically a spontaneous and amazing group therapy session happens till the game is back up! So go ahead and fire your therapist. 502 Bad Gateway group therapy day has got your back!
It's educational! Learn about music history and popular culture - from the special 'classical' composer cards right up to the super topical latest day - and into the future! Degrees in Rising Star cards and their meanings coming to a university near you soon!
It's an obsessive collectors dream. Yes I'm looking at you uniques page on the RSGFan site - refreshing you hourly! (thanks
). It takes up a lot less space than a stamp collection too.
It can be your only source of music! You can listen to the radio built into the game, watch the weekly radio show, and you can even buy your favourite musician's records in the game! So ditch that Spotify subscription and listen to your favourite RS artists!
We've covered the personal, social, dating, education, entertainment and even productivity benefits of Rising Star. But what about it helping you get your next job! Don't send your linkedIn profile - send your Rising Star band and stats as your Resume! Cos if you're like me it took a lot more dedication and passion and attention to detail to build that up than your LinkedIn did by a mile! If recruiters don't get that then it's probably not the job for you anyway.
