The Grubberment had points to prove, saving lives etc etc, while they demonstrated, time, and time again, that arbitrary rules NEVER work.

It appeases a certain group of people - and that is it.
It always ends in pain and misery.

However, Djokovic's lockdown, in Melbourne, just highlighted that our Grubberment had locked away a group of Asylum seekers.

Keeping refugees waiting indefinitely (often in the name of care) is how many states have managed to avoid legal obligations to protect refugees under the 1951 Refugee Convention.

Many of whom, seemed destined to remain in captivity for many more years.
The spotlight brought the issue to the fore which resulted in many of them having their hearings accelerated.
