Hey guys,
When you hear Healthy Kids, do you wonder what it means as a whole?
Healthy Kids isn't just the physical health of our children and taking care of their body. As a whole, we are more than that. I'm sure you are well aware.
Overall Health includes physical health, emotional health and social health. It means to live a prosper life, on all levels. It means to have friends, to interact with people around us, to be able to adapt in any situation (if needed) other than our normal comfort zone. It means to be happy and content.
What I mean is that, as parents, kids are our responsability. Clear as a freaking cucumber. 🥒😄 Their health is our job.
But their health isnt just about nutrition and paying attention to what they eat in a day or how many hours do they sleep at night.
We need to take care of their needs, their emotional and social health as well.
Today I'm going to expose a little bit the topic of outdoor time for kids and how important it is for their growth, their social, physical and emotional well being.
Outdoor play is crucial for children's development for several reasons.
First of all, it helps them develop physical skills like coordination, balance, and strength, gross motor skills.
It also promotes cognitive development by encouraging exploration and creativity in natural environments.
Spending time in nature and outside the walls of the house allows kids to engage their senses, promoting sensory development.
(Ohhh, how many Nature Hunt Worksheets we checked ✔️✔️✔️, how many leaves we counted, how many flowers we smelled, how many pebbles we picked up....)
Plus you all know that exposure to sunlight helps with vitamin D production and supports overall health.
Socially, outdoor play encourages interaction, cooperation skills and communication with other kids.
And as a fair conclusion, it contributes to an overall healthy childhood.
In other terms, when children spend time outside, in a park or whatever, with other kids, things happen in their little brain.
More precisely, being in a natural environment, has a significant positive impact for their mental health.
Outdoor play reduces stress and anxiety, promotes relaxation and calming effects and a well being state of mind. We all felt it, right? When we're tired or stressed out, a walk or spending a little time in nature can make the difference.
Another thing to mention here is that when kids play outside, their play time isnt structured, to say so. They play as they want, freely. This is huge because kids need this. They need to be kids and play randomly. And outside is the perfect place for it.
Their brain isnt "at work". They just have a great time.
Socially, when they're plying outside with other kids too, its just the best way socialize and learn how to communicate, cooperate, play with other kids.
Dino Park Rasnov, Transylvania
To put all of the above in practice, a couple of days ago we visited Dino Parc in Rasnov, Brasov county.
Caleb had an amazing time here, as I expected to.
Dino Park is a fun dinosaur themed park in Rasnov, 20 minutes from Brasov.
The park is located into the forest, good thing kids are in nature, but not directly exposed to the sun light. Ofc there is sun exposure, also shadow but depending on what you want, you have them both. Big trees got you covered!
The park presents dino replicas trying to make it real. Their size are huge.
The park itself its a recreational outside place who offers information about dinosaurs.
At the entrace, it has a big play area with lots of features kids love.
There's also a small aventura park. Sadly, we couldnt try it because Caleb didnt have proper shoes. He was so sad about it. Actually I saw (in 5 minutes) more than 10 kids being refused for not having proper shoes. There was this girl crying so hard. Caleb cried to.
Dino Park Rasnov offers a unique opportunity to imagine the before era, apparently when dinosaur lived. And kids can learn about the different species in a fun and engaging way.
Here I leave you some photos. I hope you'll enjoy them!
My son, at 4.5 yrs old, was super excited about this place, but can you blame him? There's no kid who doesnt love this play park.
We've been here before, when Caleb had 2.5 but I so felt and seen the difference.
I will write a separate post about Dino Park, I still have a lot of photos taken two years ago and I'm gonna share them with you.
I think parks and other places like this one, outdoor, are what kids need in order to distress, to consume their energy and have a great time by themselves or make new friends. It's the best opportunity to socialize and learn how to act around kids and with kids.
What's your opinion in this matter? Are you taken your kods outside regularly? Did you notice how their stress level goes down after playing outside?
Thanks guys for reading,
Missdeli ❤️
