It all started at a restaurant called Earls Kitchen in the beautiful city of Somerville, Massachusetts. I work just a block or two from the restaurant, so, upon leaving my workstation on Friday, July 24th, I rushed outside to see what was happening. I could hear lots of things: music, people walking around the city yelling and screaming at one another, and cars driving by on the nearby road. "hi". The greeting came from behind me. Turning around, I saw my best friend standing there ... turns out I had accidentally walked past him and neither one of us noticed the other. He and my other friend had been standing outside awaiting my arrival.
We made it to the restaurant, and in light of the fact it was a Friday night, and especially because people were just recently able to go out to eat at all in this state due to Coronavirus, we had what would turn out to be about a 45-minute wait. I didn't mind, though the heat started getting to me rather quickly. My friend then proceeded to hand me a package. "oh, here's your chocolate. Hopefully you enjoy this." "yes, ought to be interesting," I replied. Stowing it away in the bag I had obtained from the dentist's office that morning, we turned our focus to dinner. I got chicken with Asian noodles, one of my favourite dishes at that place. After the main course, all three of us opted to share a piece of chocolate cake; couldn't miss the specials, could we? Either way, it was peaceful, pleasant, and nice to be able to do something normal after at least four months.
Strange Things
After arriving back home to my apartment, I took a shower, and just prior to sitting down at my computer to check my messages and emails, I opened the bar of chocolate. Even though I had looked in the shop catalog earlier in the week when my friend offered to reserve something for me, he still surprised me; I had no idea whether the bar was infused with only CBD or THC, or whether it was a one:one. I never asked. after ripping the package all to hell with a knife (there seemed to be no other method of opening it), I broke the chocolate into 5 MG pieces and resealed them in another zip-lock bag, popped a piece of it into my mouth, and then placed the bag into one of the drawers in my fridge. Closing it, I returned to my desk to wait.
One of my out of state contacts had asked me to call him earlier, so I did that; while we were trying to have a productive conversation, I began to feel a lot lighter; felt a thousand times better than alcohol, actually. I noticed that I began to have a difficult time talking, or at least, that's what it sounded like to me; for all I knew, I was talking just fine and actually being understood. I ate another row of chocolate thinking that I needed another one, though I'm starting to wonder if that was a mistake ...
About a half hour later, the printer on my network rack started moving, and everything around me started getting brighter. Warmth flooded me, and it became increasingly difficult for me to even remember what I was doing, or where I was supposed to be the next day. I felt incredible. Still to this day, as I sit down to write this three weeks later, meanwhile after having a second encounter with one less row of chocolate; only had one the second time around, I wonder whether I took too much, or whether I just had a really good time with a little more than a first-timer should take.
Something else happened that was rather interesting, though my friend had warned me about this many years ago, though being told about it and actually experiencing it are two very different things. As you all know, I am a very paranormally/spiritually aware person. On cannabis, I can clearly communicate with and see my spiritual guides, with hardly any effort at all; I don't even have my eyes closed for it, as I normally would when not high. It actually seemingly brings me closer to the creator as well as to the Fae realm; I could feel my contacts reaching out, as if I were being anchored. That feeling for me is always there, but evidently Mother Nature knows a way to bring it closer when needed. One thing I learned, though, is that I have to use this experience sparingly, enjoy it when I can, but don't over use it. Because then Mother Nature will possibly stop granting me simple journeys to the Fae and otherworldly realms. Another friend of mine told me that, a long time ago.
In light of the side effects from edibles such as impaired memory and mobility, however, I think I need to find a less invasive and lengthy means of obtaining this same experience. I couldn't do edibles on a work night, for instance, and even on the weekends, I have to be really careful, and wait for the right time. It hits me so strongly that there is no way someone else here wouldn't notice (my family doesn't know about this.) I think next time around, I'm going to try vaping, and see how differently it feels. Thoughts? Would love to hear them. Could I have done this differently? Let me know in the comments.
