Although there is no data to support the ability of CBD to kill many different bacteria, CBD has shown anti-viral activity in a number of studies.
There is first evidence that cannabis CBD can prevent infection with coronavirus and in case of infection reduce the severity of the resulting disease. Researchers studied more than 400 strains to find out how to prevent infection by impairing the ability of viruses to bind to cell receptors. Several strains reduced the number of available viral receptors by 73 percent, and some even by 80 percent.
This finding has been discussed but should be confirmed by clinical studies and may constitute the first direct evidence of a positive effect of cannabis-CBD on the immune system. Recent rumors suggest that people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and other chronic diseases sometimes smoke in combination with cannabis.
