I was so excited that my Plantasia record came and on record store Saturday of all days.
I had ordered it a few weeks back and there were some delays but it finally made it.
Technically this vinyl purchase doesn't count as arecord store Saturday purchase , because I didn't buy it from a record store I bought it from a private seller who had some records for sale on eBay, I guess that's a store to a degree, but I am going to a brick and mortar vinyl shop for sure.
and specifically to grab the new Czarface record Czamagedon from Boston rap legend Esoteric. I like Czarface because he's a Boston Guy, a great lyricist, and MF DOOM r.i.p. was even on the last one.
After my record store day visit, I went over to an exceedingly dank Farmers Market that was happening somewhere around
Central MA.
It's in the official town of Robert Urich ,
and that's all I'll say
if you know you know. ....anywho
there was a bunch of records that were available for record day
but I had to relax,as I also wanted to get some things here at the farmers market
so I had to make some tough choices.
The beauty of the farmers market is that you're able to see people from all over New England and see what they've got going on
and get a good Hands-On feels ( sticky btw) for their craftily crafted crafts.
I'm not usually one for holidays perpetuated for the purpose of purchasing propaganda or plastic products, but I'll say I do enjoy records It's fun to see who else likes records.
It used to be that people who like records were real fringy, although now you can go to even Walmart to buy popular albums as vinyl releases.
I guess they figured out that people like records when they did their "what media format do you like to purchase" data analysis
... In My High Opinion, music streaming platforms have really done a disservice to the music listening community in a sense because it's removed the community from the community.
While you can certainly stream songs to your heart's content nobody will ever get paid,
guaranteed,
except for people who put together the streaming audio intellectual property right contracts .
...you know, lawyers
I like craft cannabis and all that it entails but I also like craft food and craft music, craft people even craft macaroni and cheese... as it were.
so when I find out about little farmers markets going down, I always try to go to them because I like to be amongst those people who are taking a stand for individuals brave enough to go off grid with their business ventures....
also I was fresh out of dabs
no worries though ...plenty of rigs to go around.
The local cannabis arena here in grassachusetts is the best.
You may miss it though because the focus here in the Bay State is for sure the highly controlled corporate cannabis companies and they don't have dabs available at like
... necann,
except for the countless rigs getting fired up on boylston by an ever growing collection of friends
When you make it to the grey-er events the vibe gets much better
....networking vs not working
just chilling and getting it in with local and authentic people, and the valuable time spent ripping tubes with them.
Lots of folks spend all their free time preparing to participate in local cannabis. This is where the beauty of it all is. Adults agreeing to engage in free trade with one another, and in the dankest way possible.
For the record, as it were
New England Cannabis and the legendary Spencer Boston... highly recommended.
