Marijuana vending machines coming to Massachusetts
The service is likely to be attractive to Massachusetts dispensaries, which topped $785 million in total sales since recreational cannabis sales began in November 2018 — $320 million in this year alone. In particular, the automation could undermine a wave of unionization efforts under way at dispensaries throughout the state.

The dispensary devices will enhance minimal-contact purchasing. Weed-tech company “anna” says Nevada, California, and Canada will be next.
Boston-based tech company anna (written all lower-case) announced plans to roll out cannabis vending machines in dispensaries across the state this September, making marijuana a treat like soda, chips, and candy that you can summon with the push of a button. Imagine that: Getting weed and munchies in the exact same way!

Dear Joe Biden: Here’s the data, now it’s time to embrace marijuana legalization
According to your policy director, the only reason you haven’t backed national cannabis legalization already is a perceived “lack of data.”
“As science ends up with more conclusive evidence regarding the impact of marijuana,” Stef Feldman recently told The Atlantic. “I think [Biden] would look at that data.”
Sounds great!
So in that spirit, I’ve taken the liberty of compiling all the data you will need to make an informed decision regarding whether cannabis should be legal in all 50 states, or if adults should keep getting arrested and incarcerated over a beneficial plant.
Once you get a load of all this science I’m about to lay out, I’m sure you’ll change your mind.

Maine Marijuana Sales Can Finally Begin, Officials Announce Four Years After Voters Legalized It
The first round of cannabis business licenses will be issued on September 8, giving licensees about a month to begin harvesting, processing and ensuring quality control for their marijuana products. It’s not clear how many licenses will be initially approved.
Marijuana businesses in Maine can begin recreational sales on October 9, the state’s cannabis regulatory body announced on Friday.
“The public’s health and safety are at the forefront of every decision we make,” OMP Director Erik Gundersen said in a press release. “While we were poised to launch this new industry earlier this year, we were unwilling to sacrifice the high standards we have set for this program by launching during an emerging public health pandemic and in the absence of a testing facility.”
