I had an evening sampling of the Sensi Star indica from the recent ocs.ca cannabis delivery. Smooth evening buzz with a euphoric rush from the first tokes, with a solid cushion and relaxation creeping in a few minutes later - sweet lemon citrus, woody pine ginger spice flavor.
Sensi Star
Sensi Star is a 70/30 indica dominant cannabis strain with Dutch breeding and Afghani indica genetics (Source). This batch was greenhouse grown by 7Acre and tested at 14.6% THC, lower than the 20-25% THC average for this strain (Source) - with 0.53% Terpinolene, 0.50% Caryophyllene, 0.47% Humulene, 0.12% Myrcene, 0.11% alpha-Pinene, and less than 0.01% of the Linalool, Caryophyllene oxide, beta-Pinene, and the Limonene terpenes (Source).
The Sensi Star buds have bright and crispy greens, ample mats of orange pistils, and a thick coating of amber trichomes, with a sweet lemon citrus earthy woody pine scent.
Hightimes may be Purchasing 13 Dispensaries in California
The Hightimes Holding Corp., the owner of the legendary High Times Magazine, is potentially purchasing 13 operational dispensaries in California from the Harvest Health & Recreation company. The deal is close to being finalized, Hightimes is offering "$12.5 million in cash and $67.5 million in preferred stock" (Source). Hightimes would like to mold the dispensaries in their image and have them become popular cannabis distribution and retail must go destinations for cannabis enthusiasts. The purchase seems like a great fit for Hightimes Holdings Corp., it's now or never with hard print magazine sales slumping - they announced to shareholder back in Dec 2019 that they may not be able to continue operations due to "recurring operating losses, net operating cash flow deficits, and an accumulated deficit" (Source). Hightimes also has it's hightimes.com website, cannabis trade shows, cannabis cups, and other ventures - I look forward to seeing the Hightimes brand involved with the cannabis industry and activism for many more years.
The Roll Up
I reached for the OCB Premium papers for the Sensi Star sampling. Ultra thin papers made with rice fibers - slow and smooth burn.
Sensi Star flavor and effects
Sweet lemon citrus woody pine and light ginger spice flavor. Euphoric endorphin spice rush and eye lid relaxation from the first tokes - decent mind focus with good creative and social motivation. The cushioned body buzz creeps in after a few minutes - solid effects, even with the lower 14.6% THC. I'll save these Sensi Star buds for late afternoons or evenings.
