As a continuation of my ongoing experiments in electroculture I will document for you in this post the difference in growth between cannabis seeds which were placed inside a 20cm copper pyramid for two weeks prior to germination and seeds which spent no time in the pyramid prior to germination.
This experiment was conducted because I heard in an interview with the world's leading expert Yannick Van Doorne, that cannabis responds very well to various electroculture techniques.

For the purposes of convenience we tend to buy three feminised cannabis seeds from Spain every year. This way they can be planted out early in their final positions, knowing with certainty they will not turn out to be males (which must be removed). I was excited to germinate them as soon as possible but had to wait until the 15th before it was the correct planting period for these flowers, based on Rudolf Steiner's biodynamic calendar.
No seeds spent any time in the pyramid before being put in the soil.
15th Feb
I planted the three seeds from Spain directly in pots with soil from the garden. Gelato, Skunk & Cannasonic along with some Early Skunk seeds we have from a hermaphrodite plant last year.
The pyramid was placed over the pots for three days before being used to charge a bunch of seeds for Spring, including more seeds from the Early Skunk last year.
28th Feb
Two weeks later I could see that only two of the seeds from all those little tubs had sprouted. Not great odds there, but thankfully it was at least two of the feminised seeds from Spain which made it. Don't know what happened to the third. Even pyramids cannot save seeds which are dead for whatever reason.
4th March
Once I was sure none of the other seeds had made it, I planted under tissue paper around 30 of the Early Skunk seeds from last year's crop, which had now been sitting in the pyramid for two weeks.
Positioning of the seeds within the pyramid is important by the way, as is the weather. Longer periods are preferable when the weather is calm, shorter periods when it is stormy. Also, try to place your seeds in the corners as this is the best area for efficient charging.
29th March
Here they are in my greenhouse around three weeks later, along with a few copper spirals & various Spring plants.
8th April
Most recently this is the day I re-potted them into bigger tubs.
Here are the two from Spain with the blue Lakovsky coil around them.
Side by side you can see clearly the difference.
The seeds which spent two weeks in the pyramid before germination are around two or three times the size of the ones which didn't. And don't forget, the bigger ones were planted two weeks later than the others!
Conclusion of experiment
Using the same soil, same amount of water and same tin foil covered pots (because I heard this increases root activity), there is a huge difference in growth between the two categories of seeds, especially given the two week head start from the Spanish seeds which are supposedly 'pro' seeds. Very expensive too!
With all of this said, I must mention that we heard from a friend recently who also bought feminised seeds from Spain and claimed to experience slow growth, so it is possible none of this has anything to do with the pyramid. However, we have been buying feminised seeds from Spain for seven years now and this year's seeds don't seem to be doing anything different to normal. It's just that the seeds which spent two weeks in the pyramid prior to germination are much bigger by comparison, making our Spanish plants look small.
Has anyone in this community had trouble with slow growth this year from recently bought feminised seeds?
Increase growth & potency with magnets
In an effort to speed up the growth of my females to match the rest I have these magnets which I am checking here for polarity.
The magnets are placed around the base of the plant like this.
I cannot say yet if it will have the desired effect, but I have seen and read enough to suspect strongly it will. So much so that I am currently running an experiment on transplanted parsley & basil, testing out the theory that increased magnet size boosts potency of growth.
I will post the preliminary results in a few weeks...
If these kind of experiments interest you I strongly recommend checking out the new electroculture community where I will be posting all such results, alongside other enthusiasts who are delving likely for the first time into this most exciting arena which I think you will find to be quite addictive once you get into it.
