Hello great Africans and all lovers of music. This is afritunes week 114, and I will be singing a song in appreciation of all the fathers in the world. Last week was our fathers day and it was celebrated specially. They had different activities like football match and other things that made their day very special.
So, the song today is my own way of saying happy father's day to all the fathers that will be privileged to listen to my music today. Is an old song that I have known since I was a child. The song was first sung for mothers using it to pray for mothers who have gone through alot of pains while raising their children up. When it is mother's day we do sing it to the mothers. But for this year I want to do it the other way around. I will be singing it for the fathers and not for mothers this time.
The song is in Hausa and it means that father's are sweet. And for me saying that father's are sweet I see it as an understatement. They are far more than just been sweet. The are sweeter than anything that is sweet. Better than anything that is good. I'm proud of fathers and that is why I am doing this.
The song is written by me. I don't even know the genesis of the song. All I know is that I grew up hearing the song.
Here is the lyrics š
