After feeling a drought for such a long time, I finally experienced getting daily sales again. Personally, I’m losing motivation on whether I should push further in affiliate marketing. I’m always trying to adjust in a fast-paced environment and want to earn money. Anyway, I’m not monetized per views here, but I can earn by getting sales. At the moment, I’m unemployed in real life but a student on paper. I’m a marketing student by profession, so I guess I should already treat my account as a business.
Overview
For this week, dated April 15 to April 21, I generated over 32.4K product impressions and 1.6K product clicks. This means that the algorithm pushes me to a wider audience. I’m surprised by these numbers since it means that TikTok is trying to push my content. Yet, I don’t know if my content or the product is the problem. In addition, we’re also experiencing inflation during this crisis.
Commission
Personally, it’s my first time getting this commission for a week this year. I feel like some of the videos that I published a few months ago are now bearing fruit. However, I think that most of my sales this week just happened during this period. I anticipate that I will get more sales next week since most of my sales today are from fans. Since I know that most of my sales today are just seasonal, I hope that I can get more sales from products that we often use. That’s why my goal is to test at least one or more products weekly.
Posting Strategy For This Week
As you can see, I promoted a lot of products this week. I focused on the items that I bought and sold last week. On the other hand, I also tried to push again the products that are needed for summer and the next academic year. I filmed 14 pieces of content for it, but I sometimes add more if there’s a burst of ideas. I also make contents if there's an inquiry from the comment section. Personally, I didn’t film all of them in one sitting as I only push more than three items daily. Yet, there have been times when I film eight videos in a single day.
TikTok is getting strict lately, so I need to alternate my uploads. I only upload three shoppable videos and one non-shoppable video daily. And fortunately, I still have a lot of drafts to be uploaded in the following days. My reason for alternating uploads is that I can get violations for the same background, product, or outfit. It’s still okay to film multiple videos with the same background, product, or outfit in one sitting. Yet, you should not upload them all at once—just alternate them with different background, product, or item. It’s not stressful to do, though.
Other Strategy
This week, I decided to go live every other day in the morning and daily in the evening. I promote various tech items during the day while only answering word search in the evening. However, for this week, I came up with an idea to push livestreaming daily since I can now manage it. It’s just hard to balance since I need to do YouTube Shorts. Yet, I don’t want to prioritize my YT account for the meantime since I’m not monetized yet.
Posting Strategy For The Next Week
Compared to my previous posting strategy, I decided to focus solely on the items I sold last week. If you check my posting strategy, I sold 8–9 different products. I just bundled the two kinds of earphones into one since it’s better than selling them separately. Because of this success, I skipped posting summer or back-to-school items that didn’t sell this week. I also purchased one product and am planning to promote it next week for three times. If there’s a comment on my post, I will create content for it. By doing this, I can make more posts and add variety to avoid violations in the future.
Conclusion
Since I treat this side hustle as a business, I need to be intentional with what I post. That’s why you see me planning it like a business owner since I’m taking it seriously. I anticipate that I will make more sales from the current products that are already selling. On top of that, I can also foresee that one of them might become my hero product. I also feel that I can push from 4 to 5 videos daily. Let’s see next week if I can get more items sold or see positive signs. See you!
