Perhaps this story of personal experience in my work history has been one of the work experiences I have enjoyed the most. Although I always wanted to show you this alternative independent work, there came a time when I had to tell you about the woman behind the formal work life.

A few years ago, I started this project hand in hand with a wonderful team (Veronica, Maria Isabel, Marilyn, and of course my husband) my main objective was and is as an entrepreneur to project the history and the current context of my city through the designs that are woven in each piece with the ancestral technique of our indigenous guajiros (Wayuu) in our Zuliana region.

The truth is that it has helped me; without a doubt, to develop my independent work in the best possible way.

This image on the (cover) reminds me of the most beautiful thing about being an indigenous and ethnic art culturist in my region and in my country, not only the personal satisfaction and recognition for the work experience of (self-management) and independence (my own business) of this undertaking together with my family, but also the fact that in these challenging times I am collaborating with other foundations in promoting the art of the Wayuu ethnicity.

Despite the political and social chaos that our country is going through

In these moments is when this indigenous art is born with many dreams and vision, to continue working, adding and believing that this is not just making an accessory, it means creating together with the work team different and unique designs so that our customers feel satisfied to wear an exclusive piece and in some cases personalized. We have struggled with the shortage of supplies and excessive price increases to acquire them and have them ready for the show room.

Also to open the channels that contribute to this project, so necessary to keep my family safe, which represents a great emotional and economic tranquility for the welfare of all ... in this now.

Handcrafted Work

The Wayuu tapestry is a tradition acquired from generation to generation, a small size creation can take 1 day and for larger pieces up to 3 days. Its elaboration begins by placing in a drum or hoop a canvas that serves as a base to draw the multicolored cotton or synthetic threads previously marked in the design, at the end it is removed from the mold and the strands are cut. This is how our designs are born.

When there is love and passion for what is done, we open with this handmade project, besides exalting the art of Wayuu tapestry, handmade stitch by stitch, without leaving aside the characteristic colorfulness of the Wayuu culture.

The marketing offered in these bazaars that open their doors on weekends from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm propitiate the exchange of knowledge, experience and knowledge with other talented entrepreneurs, and the people (potential customers) in an environment where harmony and comfort is present.

When you work with passion, the results are as expected, visible and even referential, making culture with handmade crafts. Yes you can and I am very proud to belong and stay in this new and different independent work life, very different from everything I have done before as a professional. It is a motive to improve myself, with goals to achieve... being happy along the way.

How much is my strength?

It is the size of commitment, dedication, gratitude to keep learning and giving more and more. This experience in my work life has very challenging moments, of measuring myself so as not to lose my north.

My work team is part of the brain in this venture, where there is still much to conquer and achieve. Our customers and other partners in this business are the most important thing for us, as well as what we have learned from the indigenous culture and art, treasure and invaluable heritage of indispensable people in our society.

I feel very satisfied and I thank each one of the members of my team for this adventure that became for me an independent work and a new experience in my work life that I do with love, dedication and with all humility I wish to continue according to God's will and my desire to grow in this new experience that I carry out between media tours that support this alternative work life.

Quizás esta historia de experiencia personal en mi historia laboral ha sido una de las experiencias de trabajo que más me haya gustado. Aunque siempre quise mostrarles este trabajo alternativo independiente, llegó un momento en que tocó hablarles de la mujer que hay detrás de la vida laboral formal.

Hace unos años, inicié este proyecto de la mano de un equipo maravilloso (Verónica, Maria Isabel, Marilyn, y por supuesto mi esposo) mi objetivo principal era y es como emprendedora proyectar la historia y el contexto actual de mi ciudad a través de los diseños que se tejen en cada pieza con la técnica ancestral de nuestros indígenas guajiros (Wayuu) en nuestra región Zuliana.

Lo cierto es que me ha ayudado; sin duda alguna, a desarrollar mi trabajo independiente de la mejor manera posible.

Esta imagen en la (portada) me recuerda lo más bonito de ser cultora del arte autóctono y étnico en mi región y en mi país, no solo la satisfacción personal y el reconocimiento por la experiencia laboral de (autogestión) e independencia (mi propio negocio) de este emprendimiento conjuntamente con mi familia, sino también el hecho de que en estos momentos tan desafiantes soy colaboradora con otras fundaciones en promover el arte de la etnia Wayuu.

A pesar del caos político y social que vive nuestro país

En estos momentos es cuando nace con muchos sueños y visión, este arte indígena para seguir trabajando, sumando y creyendo que esto no es solo hacer un accesorio, significa crear conjuntamente con el equipo de trabajo diseños diferentes y únicos para que nuestros clientes se sientan satisfechos al lucir una pieza exclusiva y en algunos casos personalizada. Hemos luchado con la escasez de insumos y aumento desmesurado de precios para adquirirlos y tenerlos listos para el show room.

También para abrir los canales que contribuyan con este proyecto, tan necesario para mantener a mi familia resguardada, lo cual representa una gran tranquilidad emocional y económica para el bienestar de todos... en este ahora.

Trabajo Artesanal

El tapiz Wayuu es una tradición adquirida de generación en generación, una creación de tamaño pequeño puede tomar 1 día y para piezas más grandes hasta 3 días. Su elaboración comienza al colocar en un tambor o aro una loneta que sirve de base para entresacar los hilos multicolores de algodón o sintéticos previamente marcados en el diseño, al final se saca del molde y se corta las hebras. Así nacen nuestros diseños.

Cuando hay amor y pasión por lo que se hace se abren con este proyecto hecho a mano, además de exaltar el arte del tapiz wayuu, hecho a mano punto por punto, sin dejar de lado el colorido característico de la cultura Wayuu.

El marketing que se ofrece en estos bazares que abren sus puertas los fines de semana de 1:00 pm a 8:00pm propicia el intercambio de saberes, experiencia y conocimiento con otros talentosos emprendedores, y con la gente (potenciales clientes) en un ambiente donde la armonía, y el confort está presente.

Cuando se trabaja con pasión, los resultados son los esperados, visibles y hasta referenciales, haciendo cultura con artesanía hecha a mano. Si se puede y estoy muy orgullosa de pertenecer y permanecer en esta novedosa y diferente vida laboral independiente, muy diferente a todo lo que he hecho antes como profesional. Es un motivo para mejorar, con objetivos que lograr... siendo feliz en el camino.

¿Qué tanto es mi fuerza?

Es del tamaño del compromiso, la dedicación, la gratitud de seguir aprendiendo y dando más y más. Esta experiencia en mi vida laboral tiene momentos muy desafiantes, de medirme para no perder mi norte.

Mi equipo de trabajo es parte del cerebro en este emprendimiento, donde aún falta mucho por conquistar y lograr. Nuestros clientes y otros compañeros en este negocio son lo más importante para nosotros, así como lo aprendido de la cultura y arte indígena, tesoro y patrimonio invaluable de gente indispensable en nuestra sociedad.

Me siento muy satisfecha y agradezco a cada uno de los integrantes de mi equipo esta aventura que se volvió para mí un trabajo independiente y una nueva experiencia en mi vida laboral que hago con mucho amor, dedicación y con toda humildad deseo seguir conforme a la voluntad de Dios y mis ganas de crecer en esta novedosa experiencia que llevo a cabo entre giras de medios que apoyan está vida laboral alternativa.
