I am a public administrator, and I love my work so much as it gives the opportunity to meet people and learn about so many things for my personal growth.
Public administration is the process of managing people and coordinating them to achieve a particular goal. Administration is a skill because dealing with human beings is very difficult. There are times people will disappoint you, but you still need to make them do what you want them to do so as to achieve a set goal.
As a public administrator, I have come across a lot of people, and I have been in a situation where I have to deprive myself of so many things so that I can achieve my goals.
I led thirty people in an organisation, and the organisation where I work has the objective of taking humans, and in the organisation, I worked as the organising secretary. As the organizing secretary, I am left the responsibility of organizing programmes, meeting resource persons for the programme, etc.
Sometimes I have to make sure that I take care of everyone in the organisation, including their welfare and other things. I am always given a huge amount of money, and after each programme I have to give an account of it.
As an organising secretary, here are some tips to make sure that my organisation moves forward:
Punctuality is something that I cannot do without, as if I am not punctual, I would miss the opportunity of correcting my subject. I have to be early so that I can set up the place together with my team members.
I also organize seminars for my team members so as to sharpen their skills in decorations, human relations, reporting, etc. There are times I step aside so that some team members can also learn by leading or having organized a programme.
In my organisation, we submit our report every Friday to the head office, so I have to prepare the report and make sure that I submit it to the head office on time.
So far I love my work as it brings out the best in me, and I love it because it makes me up and doing and not lazy at all.
