The fact that we feel the need to ask an 'icon' to be more open, fairer, more inclusive - is giving them our attention, our vital force, our sovereignty - but as much as they all have to come down off their pedestals, WE have to step out of the lower rungs of the hierarchy, and up to meet them in the horizontal!
