Sometimes when you work on a vehicle you get to a point and you just need to take a break. It’s not that the work is overwhelming... Ok in my case it was a bit overwhelming due to the fact that I have never done anything like this before. Set yourself some goals and when you reach them take a couple day break. In my case I took a week of from working on my 2005 Lincoln Navigator. It is getting a full timing overhaul, oil pump, water pump, A/C compressor, cam sensors, and crank sensor. Then to add to the list of parts being taken off or replaced. I had to remove the oil pan to clean out parts of the timing chain guide that got destroyed and fell down inside.
With this project there has been a whole lot of “While you are in there” parts getting replaced. Trust me, I don’t want to have to get back in there anytime soon. This car has over 160k miles and I feel pretty lucky that this timing chain issue has been the only main issue I have had with this car.
Well I made some more progress, little by little parts are coming off and parts are getting replaced. I found that setting a daily goal takes away that overwhelming feeling from looking at a job this big and complex. There is a lot involved in this and I just hope everything goes back together correctly. :wink:wink
