Why I like them
- They have absolutely amazing colour gradations!!!
- For their superb reflections (Did I say how much I like reflections?? Yes, I did!!)
- They fly or perhaps, should I say, wander??? Yes, that's the word I like!!
Why I draw them
- It's a common theme for me since I was a child
- It has reflections and mirroring (see my first article for the outcome of using those two tools
- It relieves me from all the bad thoughts
- It can include a family member or...
or... Two!!
So, let's dig in the process!!
At first I was experimenting with thick paper patterns designing butterflies, and then I started transfering them into a paper using at first the shape of butterfly. But when I saw it, I thought that I can make butterflies only by the triangles themselves and hooray!!! I did it!
Then my daughter, Ariadne, came in and she really liked triangles, so she her block of sheets and drew the following image!
I really admired her colour combinations (she is 7 years old !!) and I expressed my enthousiasm! So, Ariadni asked me if I let her paint my butterfly!?! And I....said YES!! (Despite my hesitation..) And the result is the following image
Using my favourite tools, mirroring and reflection I create two images, and a ... Butterfly lady appeared on scene!!
