We have a bunch of slogans, sayings, whatever you want to call them and those who don't have an opinion about anything, because they are not capable of judging for themselves, or are not educated in any regards, are using these to look smart. One of these slogans or sayings says "Every society is as strong as the weakest link". This is not something I use often, or at all, but it is true. But what if most of the society qualifies as weakest link? What then?
This is again a topic that may blow the fuse, as most likely some of the readers might recognize themselves in the writing, although I'm not referring to any specific person here, but a phenomenon that is fairly obvious to any person with a healthy education in a civilized country.
If you've been on this platform, you've seen this behavior for sure and if you're not one of them, then you know it's wrong. Yes, you read it right, I wrote if you're not one of them, then you know it's wrong, because those in question think it's ok, see no problem with this behavior, and the worst part is, it means they have no intention to change.
It's like a script already, it goes the same way each and every time and I can predict the outcome from the start. It begins with breaking the rules and when caught or notified about it, the first reaction is, "I didn't know", which in some cases can be genuine, as they couldn't care less about studying the rules previously, and in other cased it's a lie. This doesn't prevent them from committing the same abuse again and this is where things get "interesting".
In any normal country/society/community, those who commit the same act twice, are considered recidivist and treated accordingly, which means breaking the rules the first time never goes unpunished, but on Hive, you can get away with it with a warning, but when you do the same thing the second time it is considered deliberate and again, in any normal country, the punishment is more severe.
On Hive, this is when you can get muted in some communities that care about their community and are working on keeping their space abuse free and this is when most of the abusers are starting to beg for a second chance, refusing to acknowledge the second chance was given to them with the first warning. Some communities are more lenient and don't mute them even after several attempts of abuse and that's where they find their home to continue abusing, but interestingly, they always want to get back into those communities that muted them.
What is interesting here is their mentality and thinking. They know they are committing an abuse (or a series of abuses) and after several warnings they still continue, then come beg for endless second chances, using all kinds of lies, hoping to get away with it, and at the end come the threats.
I'm not saying we got used to it as this is not something anyone should get used to, it's more like we know how to handle them and know most of it is just a bunch of endless lies, one after the other.
Taking several steps back and looking at the big picture, imagine how those societies are evolving, when most of their members are in fact "weakest links", cheating when they can, where they can and, lying and always looking for shortcuts. We know exactly how they evolve and it is called going backwards.
The funny thing is, everyone in this world wants a better life, without exception. Some are working hard and always in pursuit of making their dreams come true, while others ... well, others are hoping someone is going to make their dream come true.
Cheating your way through school, university by plagiarizing and using artificial intelligence may work in those countries. You may be proud of yourself for getting your diploma and even call yourself educated, but we all know that piece of paper won't do your work, in case you're hired. You'll remain as illiterate as when you started your studies and everyone with half a brain know that.
What I will never understand is how can these people live like this. There's a thing called conscience, a wor and a concept most of these people don't know and don't have it either, it seems. How can you build your life focusing only on how to cheat your way through life? Do you have an answer to this question?
