Going home to our province is something I always look forward to. I had planned to return home around August, but because I had resigned and decided to use my leave credits, I decided to spend the remaining time before I start with my new job with my family. I spent one night in Tacloban before returning home to spend time with two of my best friends. As I said in my #liketu post, Rodien and I spent some time inside the mall, even going on a little Ramen date as we waited for Alyyssa. We walked for another hour after we finished our Ramen and even got new earrings for both of us. I also bought a pair of slippers to wear at home because there is no Bench store in our area. Alyyssa finally arrived after we finished our last bit of shopping.
We quickly went down to the door to pick her up and then decided on a restaurant. We weren't particularly hungry because we had Ramen, but because Alyyssa had just arrived, we'd have to join her. Some of the restaurants along the way were filled, so I told them we could have dinner at Kuya J Restaurant because I was wanting Halo-halo. We were fortunate that they had a place for us to sit and eat our dinner. The interior appears beautiful with its simple style, but the lovely supper we were looking forward to was spoilt. I, as well as they, were really dissatisfied. We started browsing their menu and found some stuff that we wanted to try, but every time we asked for it, they said it wasn't available, and sometimes they said it was. We let it pass because we weren't really hungry. I was dismayed to discover that the dessert I desired was not available. Even the drinks most of it were not available.
I didn't anticipate this to be so complicated, and we just wanted to leave because they kept telling us it wasn't available. We stayed, as patient as we could, to give them a chance to correct their error. We placed our order before the other table, and they received their food first. We simply ignore it, possibly because we have been preoccupied with talking about our lives recently.
When they served our order, some of the food we requested was not served, and they apologized, saying that it was not available when we inquired, although we believed it was. We just ask the server to cancel those things and ensure that they do not appear on our bill. Our appetite and dinner were a catastrophe; this should be a lesson for those who work in this field to be cautious about educating or misleading customers that you can provide an unattainable service.
Though the meal was delicious, the service and manner in which we were handled were unacceptable. It may not be our lucky day, but this restaurant is always busy, which means they serve good meals. So I'm hoping they'll properly train their personnel to eliminate complaints.
