21st June 2024
The end day of my employment visa finally came, the 21st of June, and I converted it to a visitor's visa. It has been a productive six years working in Hong Kong, or should I say more than six years. I feel tired and need a complete rest.
Along with the end of the contract is getting ready to leave this country which involves buying, packing things, and etcetera. During the process, I realized that I had accumulated too much in Hong Kong, which has become a major issue for me. With only two pieces of luggage, one of which is hand carry, I won't be able to fit everything.
I thought the total of sixty kilos of baggage on my plane ticket, including my family's who will be coming tomorrow, would be enough, but it wasn't, so I had to leave some of my belongings in a boarding house, including the computer set my boss gave me, and pack and send them to the Philippines tomorrow. Such a hassle. I should have done it sooner.
But I won't be going to the Philippines soon. Tomorrow night, my family will arrive here. I am more than happy to see my mom finally coming here. It was one of my dreams before my father died. As a result, I need to extend my stay. So this morning, I went to the immigration office to request an extension of my stay. The day is bright, and I'm glad it isn't gloomy or rainy. I hope the weather will be fine until next week.
It's another hassle for me because the office has been relocated to a farther district. From the Wanchai office located on Hong Kong Island to Tseung Kwan O in the New Territories district. From 10 stations to 17 stations which involves 2 intersections. This location is almost the end of the purple MTR line. Standing on the train, if seats aren't available, is truly a pain.
Furthermore, after my visa was finalized, I had to wait for the final step, which was the payment, and it took more than an hour. There were quite a number of applicants today. I was still on the line at noon, but I received my visa before 1:00 p.m.
From a worker to a visitor. I'm gonna have a real relaxation with my family. This made me even more excited!
Afterward, I headed out to have a stroll inside the Central Park Mall, it was too freaking hot outside, and I looked for a place to dine in. There were fancy restaurants but I still chose McDonald's. A never-efast foodstfood dining. I gonna break this unhealthy diet soon.
I'll end this here and get ready for my family's arrival tomorrow.
Thanks for your time.
