Brain Dump | Morning Musings

Is it valid to criticize others when you don't even do it? Is it OK to critize the way Billionaire spends their money when you don't even have billions at hand? or dozen of other examples....

Welcome to my brain dump, it’s morning and when I am able to sit down, sipping a cup of coffee while contemplating about life and emptying it out a little.

I find it extremely interesting because to be honest, I can easily criticize how others do stuff just because the way I think it's wrong but then, what if they got back at me and apparently I am no better than them? or perhaps I just think too much about it.

Anyhow, lately something came into my own attention, during years of curation on Hive, I found all sorts of people and all sorts of things. There are some extremely well-supported but they spend so little HP curating others. Or someone who asks for money from the collective funds but they are so little invested in the ecosystem itself. I don't want to get nosey but also I can't ignore the fact that these things happen.

There's also a meme that basically said like this "watching people peacefully doing illegal things and I know if I try it, God will use me to set an example"

You could transfer that to another idea like this : You see someone make a shitpost and gets rewarded well. Nobody complains about them despite they never contribute a thing into the ecosystem. Somehow you try to replicate the behavior and you get shit on the most, more than the person that does it first and for the longest period of time exploiting the system.

I just don't find it fair yet unfortunately, that thing happen or something along the lines happened.

So, more often than not, I find myself at a crossroad because at what point do we get to have a say about a certain thing and if our opinion can be validated?

• Can we criticize something when our HP is less than 10k?
• Are we supposed to never powerdown, ever and if we do so then we'll be called exploiting the system?
• What constitute as "contribution" because for example, one can just exist and that's their contribution?
• If this ecosystem was introduced to us as a way to make money, why it seems like when we try to make money, any attempt is discouraged or even scorn at?
• If this ecosystem is also introduced as "spend and earn", "earn to spend" isn't it just like the way ATM works?
• What is so seemingly wrong when you go full time hive? I met a couple of people and even myself at one point was full time hive. Why is it seen as something negative? can't we just be a full time hiver?
• What makes it different when people with 500hp vs 50,000 hp do all the things such as powering down, making money off hive, and trying to contribute?

I was supposed to be talking about something else but those came into my attention, a little fraction of what has been on my mind all these 7 years. So, feel free to answers for more thoughts and ideas.
