We've probably all heard this argument about believing in God, the people who say it always feel like they've said the most logical thing ever and that they've beaten the atheists who claim to love logic at their own game.
LMAO 😂.
I watched an interview where Muhammed Ali made this argument and you could see him bubbling like he thinks he's just dropped a bombshell. 🤣🤣.
Like, "you said you don't believe God exists, but why not believe in case he actually exists? If you believe he exists and you die and find out he exists you have lost nothing, but if you don't believe he exists and you die and find out he exists you're in trouble, you'd go to hell."
This argument sounds nice but it has a very huge flaw. If, to a reasonable extent, you're a critical thinker you'll see the flaw gaping at you and you'll be disappointed in people for not seeing it.
This is the huge flaw: According to religions with hell and heaven, believing that God exists is not all it takes for you to not be in trouble if you die and find out that God actually exists.
So if you're believing just in case you're not on a safe side. What puts you on a safe side is believing and following the rules, and the rules are a lot, guys!
Usually no bacon, no getting high, no casual sex, no threesomes/orgies, etc.
That's too much of a price to pay for a "just in case", especially with all the atheistic arguments that disprove God out there.
So, that's how flawed that argument is. Now you know.
