Can we talk about how expensive groceries are?
I just made a run to Target to grab some groceries and much-needed cat litter. The litter was completely free, as I had a coupon for a whole free container (woohoo!), so just this small amount of groceries cost $43.57.
One 12 pack of Pepsi
A gallon of milk
A quart of yogurt
A single serve of cottage cheese
A frozen fettuccine and a 2-pack of single pizzas
A pound of turkey for making Yuan food
5 small cans of cat food
A box of cereal.
$43.57.
This greedflation is bananas.
Also, if you're wondering, I got a coupon for free litter because I had emailed Tidy Cats on their website saying, hey, for a while there we could buy your litter in cardboard boxes and now we're back to all plastic, what gives? Have ya noticed the plastic pollution crisis? Can we have cardboard boxes again please?
They sent me some canned corporate "no but we're going to pretend to care about the environment" email response, but then in the mail they sent me coupons. One for a free one and two for a dollar off. Thank you, I could definitely use those!
So yeah, write to Tidy Cats and ask them to bring back cardboard instead of plastic. Pressure them to do better and maybe get some coupons. ;)
I'm going to go eat that fettuccine now for dinner! :)
