There are alot of times I can’t tell if I’m addicted to conflict on social media as biting at temptation to get reeled into divisive paradigms of thought & dynamics, the combination of my open spleen, head, ajna & ego/will centers (in Human Design) amplifying & distorting certain ideas and holding on too long, the higher aspect of my Cross Of Demands at play as clearly identifying defective patterns & programs in cultural psychology paired with some evolutionary impulse to play a part in forcing a level-up from collective idiocy, “autistic/neurodivergent” characteristics/traits (whether overlapping with some of the former or not), or I simply give too many fucks about some stupidly irrelevant things way too often…
If you’ve read my blog for a while, you probably know I’ve been one to dip my toes into the whole “conspiracy theory” and “truther” realms. I even confess to have probably swallowed more than a few black pills in between all the red pills that’ve fuelled an unhealthy amount of cynicism. No doubt, there’s been an immense amount of lies programmed us into us all, and perhaps it’s natural to rebound from one extreme of mainstream propaganda to the opposite where we question everything. Yet, it’s also been becoming increasingly apparent that there is a significant part of these “Truther” communities that do not question everything - but rather merely get locked into more cognitive bias, the questioning of everything mainstream paired with a blind acceptance of a different set of beliefs, counterculture propaganda, and worldview that everything is part of the same evil conspiracy and linked into the same nefarious agendas to the extent that rational critical thinking and discernment get thrown out the window and arrogant overcertainty of things they do not know comes in to take their place.
Sure enough, it might be hypocritical to judge, given I myself have no doubt played out these patterns more times than could count. (Which maybe puts me in some position to objectively comment, having the direct experience both in & out of the programs to clearly assess when they’re active in/through others.) But sometimes, I swear…
There’s been a ton of content on the situation in Hawaii hitting my Instagram feed the past week, and while the “official” claim is that “no one knows” what started the wildfires, it’s rather apparent for those with eyes to see. While there are some who’d be labelled “conspiracy theorists” who can & do go too far in connecting dots as creative projects resulting in whatever pictures they want to paint and storylines that divert greatly from reality, there are also many who’ve cultivated the skill of putting together puzzle pieces - and many who’ve been doing it for a while know that the mainstream narrative of what happened in Hawaii doesn’t add up. Yet, true empowering “awakening” doesn’t entail completely dismissing every other viewpoint than your own / the groupthink’s and applying every tenet of “conspiracy” philosophy to every event…
There was this post that started circulating yesterday of an old Mountain Dew advertisement for a one-off product of theirs, “Maui Burst.” Perhaps you see where this is going already.
With “DEW” in big letters next to “Maui,” and the “burst…” yeah, you’re smart enough to get where the groupthink went with/on that. “Predictive programming,” etc, etc, etc. Complete with abundant commentary full of absolute certainty.
But let’s be real… Mountain Dew existed decades before directed energy weapons (“DEW”) were around. And for a soft drink company to launch a one-off special flavour at some point named after the world’s most famous tropical island is not exactly outside the realm of normality. Nor is including the world “burst” in the name of a food or beverage. So, I left a comment on one of those posts… ”Possibly. Though…” cuz, critical thinking.
Yet like clockwork, come a couple people commenting… ”there are no coincidences.”
Really, huh? Ok. So when Q said “watch the water…” well, it rains somewhere on earth every day… totally not “coincidence” then. And guess we just better pay extra close attention every time we use the toilet and shower, wash our hands, dishes, or laundry, drink one of our 8+ glasses of water each day, etc, etc. Or when that rap song blasting out the low-rider in California’s window with the “make it rain” chant ‘coincides’ with some rain on the west coast of New Zealand… “no coincidences.” 👌👁️
Seriously.
Why the fuck do I even bother wasting energy speaking to that level of collective intelligence with such common sense.
And am I being egosticical, arrogant, “smarter-than-thou” here… perhaps to some degree. Though *I’m not completely dismissing the “theory” in question either, as stated “possibly” upfront - merely introducing critical thinking & discernment into the dialogue to keep balanced * rational. Not as a request prompt to have a human dictionary step in an unsolicitedly offer a definition of and ‘awakened insight’ on “coincidence.”
Yet, in spite of all the acknowledgement among the “awakened” of mainstream agendas to stir “divisiveness” amongst people, here we are - quarreling among ourselves, dismissing those who introduce some critical thinking and question everything, just as much as I have part of my own psyche separating myself as “more aware” or some shit from the crowd. Check.
In this same wave triggering on social media the last couple days, was one other case…
There’s this one account I follow that posts some good stuff, that also happens to propagate some flat earth content. Well, when he’d posted a meme about ‘what the light in a sky would look like without a non-localized sun,’ I didn’t hold myself back from commenting: ”whoever created this clearly failed physics class.”
And perhaps it was me that sowed the seeds of divisiveness by slanging that, which could surely be seen as an insult towards not only whoever created it but the dude posting and all those buying it, and fairly elicited a reply to the extent of, ’whoever you are clearly hasn’t transcended the round earth brainwashing.
🤦♂️
Like, do I even need to go on here…?
I do my best to stay objective & detached with the whole flat earth subject. It’s definitely one topic where I feel more compassion is in order than the type of common divisiveness that has people on either side of the fence calling eachother retards. Though after that reply, it took some maturity to change my response from, “the physics of light and round/flat earth are two entirely different matters,” to simply bowing out from the dialogue altogether by deleting the original comment and thread.
I never got too far looking into ‘flat earth.’ The one time it sorta did capture my attention with a guy’s billboard & presentation at English Beach in Vancouver, I went home to further look into the alleged “200 proofs…” immediately finding several lacked both scientific validity and common sense. And as persuasive as some of the arguments and presentations might get, I got something like a 97% in high school physics - which was not due to studying “brainwashing agendas,” but an inherent grasp of fundamental aspects of the world we live in… which cannot be turned off or dumbed down to enough of an extent to overlook the fundamental point that no matter what theory any flat earther wants to regurgitate regarding the sun, I’m quite certain there will never be a single one that can EVER provide ANY valid explanation for sunrises & sunsets in the flat earth model.
As for the “200 proofs” that fail to account for gravity… well, “gravity is a theory,” afterall, according to flat-earthers. And while aspects of that viewpoint may even be appropriated from actual scientists saying it in a different context, my attention will be captivated when I see someone with my own eyes walking off the edge of a skyscraper and ending up in anything other than a bloody flat mess on the pavement below.
But really… is there really any point in engaging in/on/with posts like that? Or is just a reactivity - my own lack of discernment and waiting for emotional clarity - that ends up fuelling more divisiveness as providing others more fuel for their cognitive bias as they go on the defensiveness for their beliefs in the face of anything/anyone that challenges it?
Sometimes it seems I must be spending way too much time online to keep getting hooked into such petty matters as these. Others, it feels necessary to observe all these different dynamics of human nature at play as we undertake our collective evolution, as though essential to the activation of deeper levels of insight and understanding - some of which may be to pass on in contribution back to the whole.
Sometimes I question whether all these types of contemplation are really of any value to anyone, or merely “distraction” from focusing on things that’d matter a great deal more.
I don’t fucking know.
Surely, I probably put too much pressure on self to figure these things out and “get it right,” as life’s too short to be preoccupied with stupid shit that doesn’t really matter. But then again, how is the human mind conditioned with all sorts of bullshit truly supposed to have clarity on “what actually matters” - and is there even any tangible objective standard, or is it all subjective?
Perhaps our capacity for discernment will always be restricted by the limitations of the human brain and its programming. Maybe we’ll always experience some degree of divisiveness - by consequence of the duality of this dimension, and out of necessity for contrast required to discover & comprehend both the simplicities and complexities of what makes us uniquely different as well as intimately similar.
Or some shit. 🤷♂️
