Un cappuccino con orzo.
Un altro cornetto con formaggio, per favore.
( which translate to: A barley cappuccino.
Another croissant with cheese, please. )
This is what I ordered today, in my favorite bar/pasticceria/ristorante in the Italian town that I returned to, a little over two weeks ago, after having spent three months in Portugal together with .
The day before yesterday's breakfast with a view ( of apple crumble with crema pasticceria and barley coffee )
Today is day 13 without coffee.
In those 13 days, I have had 2 or 3 teas.
Night, day, night, day, week, month...
and then it's February.
Apparently of the year 2025.
I have lost track of time.
The fact that I have been sleeping weirdly for quite some time now, aside from one night of deep sleep on the ferry from Barcelona to Civitavecchia, the day we arrived in Italy, might play a part too.
Also, I seem(ed) to have lost my writing (mojo), somewhere between my last coffee and my last tea, almost two weeks ago.
and I have, once again, decided to quit caffeine ( as we tried, last September, days after meeting up/falling in love ). We are doing this to improve our physical and mental health and I must say that it's quite the roller coaster.
But hey, we are all-in in crypto and have been for many years.
And, talking about roller coasters, the (mainstream) news/world politics are like the most terrible theme park, not entertaining at all. Unless you manage to actually see the fun in it all.
It's all about riding the waves and not being sucked under for too long. It's about enjoying the highs and not staying stuck too long in the lows.
🎤Insane in the membrane,
insane in the brain🎵
My view from the sofa at the foot of our bed, with one of Clare's paintings in the background
There's many reasons to feel all-over-the-place these days but we sure do our best to find balance, in all ways possible.
Yesterday we went on a spontaneous hike, bringing a li'l picknick along with us. The weather and view were amazing for a Winter day and it was well worth the climb.
In the following picture you see daisy taking a picture of a clare ( or is it the other way around? must be the lack of caffeine... )
Some more pics...
Guardia Sandframondi, seen from above, just before we descended down a hill, after a 3 hour hike.
Anywho, I just wanted to get a post out of my system. I trust the photos make up for the lack of coherency in my writing.
I'll be back soonish, definitely sooner than in a half a month.
Stay well and keep enjoying life, whenever and wherever you can!✨
