...but yesterday, Thursday the 12th, was way worse.
There was a lot of thunder.
The sky looked super dark.
And, worst of all...
Whilst I was out, working on the land,
the brambles aimed for my head twice.
Not to injure me though.
They prefer to scratch my hands, arms and legs.
No sir/ma'am, they went straight for my head, twice, in mere minutes.
To take my cap off!
I think I could hear them laugh out loud, the 'rovi'.
Possibly because the state of my hair
Not for long though...
When they tried it a third time, I managed to grab hold of my cap and just about managed to keep it planted firmly on my head.
And then I had reached my limit. I had had enough.
I got out my big loppers/hedge cutter and snapped the bramble branch right off.
Who's laughing now?
As if the humilation wasn't bad enough, my family had no empathy for me.
When I shared the photo off my cap hanging in the brambles and had told them what happened ( adding that it happened twice in a row ), my brother and twinsister put up a 😂 , my mother who never uses emojis replied with "!!" and last but definitely not least my younger sister called me an "ass".
So rude.
She talked about a donkey though. Probably referring to donkeys not hitting their head twice against the same stone ( as the Dutch proverb goes ).
It seems like she should do a revision on her proverb. A thing like this would never happen to a donkey. Not twice in a row. They also don't wear caps, usually.
Silly sister.
