Hello hive friends and #MarketFriday lovers!
For today's Market Friday by I'll be sharing to you another mall experiences. Who doesn't love malls? It is a place to shop, to eat, to play, to walk and look around. There's just too many fun things to do at the mall.
When I went to Cebu City together with my kids the first thing we did when we arrived was to find a place to eat because we were really hungry. The husband took us to the nearest SM mall from the port area.
We decided to have dinner at Mang Inasal, a fastfood chain popular for its really delicious chicken barbecue and unli rice. The place always is full of customers. No wonder, the food here is really good.
I ordered the pork liempo but kinda regeret it and wished I ordered their best seller chicken barbecue. Not that liempo wasn't good but my taste buds weren't cooperating. They went looking for that unforgettable goodness of the chicken barbecue.😄
After having our dinner, we walked around the mall and found this area dedicated for the promotion of The Little Mermaid movie. Yeah, it was that controversial Little Mermaid movie. But we do not have plans of watching it but we really enjoyed the decors especially my kids. And I won't deny the child in me came alive looking at these decors. I grew up watching Little Mermaid animation and nostalgia just kicked in.
The decors were really pretty but the first thing that caught my eyes were these jellyfish hanging from the ceiling. It was lovely but it saddens me to see it as it reminded me of a recent situation back in our hometown. A child just recently died due to an encounter with a box jellyfish. He was just enjoying swimming in the sea and never thought things like that could happen. Box jellyfish are known to be very venomous and deadly.
My kids really enjoyed seeing these beautiful sea creature decorations with lights. It was like a preview to what they would see since we planned to visit Cebu Ocean Park. It pumped up their excitement of what to see.
As we walked around we passed by an area that surely excited the kids more. It's SM Storyland, a family entertainment center. During that time we knew we had to ready our pockets and wallets. 😆
We had seen this train passing around and out of curiosity, my kids wanted to have a ride. We let them enjoy a ride which cost 40 php or (0.72$) each. We paid a total of 2.90$ for the four of us who rode the kiddie train.
The ride was slow and relaxing. We got to see the things around the mall. The kids loved the ride.
We also checked out some other activities that kids would surely wanna try. We went inside Bibo and kids asked if they could try this stuffed toy picking up machine. Of course we want our kids to try it but unfortunately, we need to buy a bibo card so we could buy tokens for it. We thought it isn't economical since we won't be able to use it always. We just let it go. Glad my kids were vey understanding and they never throw tantrums just to get their way around.
My boy really wanted to have a ride but the rides were managed by Bibo so we couldn't do much about it. We just explained to him that Ocean Park is much more fun than this. And he was ok with it. Thankfully! 😪
We walked around the mall for a while and saw these souvenir shops. My eyes widened! There were many souvenir items that caught my eyes. All were lovely! I didn't buy anything from here but I was really eyeing for some items. Maybe next time I could set aside a budget for a souvenir.
Bags anyone! These bags are really stunning. My eyes were glued to these but I kept my hands away, hahah! We're not here for this.
Hello weekend, Cebu tote bag. This gave me an idea of how to design my abaca bag that was given to me as a gift from a friend. It was so plain so I wanted to have it designed a little.
Poor toad... I wonder if this was a real toad turned into bag. This really looked like a real one. I don't think I could ever use things like this.
They also sell "sungkaan". Sungka is a traditional Filipino game, one I really enjoyed playing when I was a kid. And even now, I think I will still enjoy the game of sungka. It would be nice to have a sungkaan and introduce the game to kids nowadays. Let them experience that physical games like this can be fun too.
I also found these decorative wall clocks. It would be nice to have one on my wall to remind me how precious every second and every minute of this life.
More souvenir items you can find from different stalls. With so much options, one would have a hard time choosing. But I was just window shopping. My eyes were satisfied though I know I'll leave the mall empty handed. Heheh. And I am ok with that.
More table top souvenir items...
From the table up to the walls with these lovely wall decors, then up to the ceiling with this unique hanging decors made of shells. There are so much to find here.
If there are things for the house then how about something have for youself. Pamper yourself with these beads and stones necklaces, bracelets, and earings.
What a display of skills and artistry. Next time when I could come back to these stores again, I will surely allocate a budget for these items. It is nice to at least have a little memorabilia that will represent the place so you can always relive each moment with that place. Don't you agree?
That's it for now. Have a great weekend dear hive friends.
