Hi, lovely people of #FridayMarket Community!π€I miss posting in this lovely community. It's good to be back!
Today I'm sharing my recent experience in the market which took me 4 months to finally purchase the item I wished for and so far the biggest purchase I have done in my life.π
Starting last year, I practiced the 30-Day rule in purchasing an item I want. A 30-Day rule in spending is a smart rule in which "instead you spend your money right away to buy things you want, you should wait for 30 days to think about it. If you still want to make that purchase after the 30 days, (if you still have the same desire to get that thing since day 1), then go ahead and purchase it!
My purchase: a 50" Quantum UHD Smart TV.
Devant 50" Quantum UHD TV is a 50 inches smart TV with Ultra High Definition pictures with an image resolution of 3840x2160 lines equivalent to 8.3 megapixels.Source: Electroworld
It took me 120 days to finally have it. What took me so long? Do I need this? Couldn't I purchase cheaper TV than this knowing this is my biggest purchase so far? Where did I purchase this? I'll answer the question one by one, but first Let me thank the beautiful for initiating the community of market lovers. Because of this wonderful community, one may share their experiences and purchases in the market, and here is mine for today.I purchased our first ever television last Saturday. π₯³
When I and my husband moved to our own house we made a deal not to buy these appliances and electronic devices unless necessary. Well, we will buy these things in the future but now because we are just starting on our own. We have other priorities and plans than buying electronics.
But as our baby is growing, we noticed how she's starting to like watching videos on the phone. Every time she watches or has screen time, all of her attention is fixed only on the phone, and nothing else. There was even this time that she showed some tantrums because we confiscate the cell phone. We were alarmed by this 'especially' since she holds the phone too near to her eyes. This started when she turned 14 months old, just last May.
So we think of providing an alternative. An alternative where we can easily control the device, change one video/channel to another channel if she gets bored, at the same time learn, and lastly, a device in which she cannot get hold of nor touch (to control her usage while we make sure to provide Parental Guidance while she's watching. With all this thinking, we concluded that we need Television. We need a Television. πΊ
With only 9,000php ($157) in our pocket, we went to the mall last May to buy a Television. A small-sized TV is okay as long as it serves its purpose. We head straight to SUPER METRO, Bogo City, the biggest mall in my hometown. The mall displays everything a consumer needs and wants. From basic needs to jewelry to appliances and so much more!
I went straight to the 2nd floor as it is where all the appliances and electronics are sold. Starting from the Heater, to the refrigerator and Television, everything is there.
Scrutinizing all the Television that fit our 9,000php budget was so hard to do. Checking TV brands and their features made me confused as to which one to pick. I didn't have a pick yet, nothing passed on my taste until this widescreen TV caught my attention, a Devant 50" Quantum Smart TV.
I checked the price, and my eyes widen, it was 26,141php ($455) too expensive for us. I liked it in an instant but we couldn't afford it. It's a way out of our budget but my eyes were glued to that TV only, claiming it to be mine. Because of that, we went home empty-handed. From there I calculated when could we gather and save extra of our money to reach the 26,000php, and as per calculation, it is this month of September that we can finally afford the 50" Quantum TV we liked. It is a long period to wait but this period is more than enough for us to think if would we really purchase this expensive TV or just stick to the small-sized TV which we can afford based on our budget.
Four months of denying the impulse of buying some other things we want just to save the 26,000php have finally come to an end. We went to Super Metro once again, and this time we felt proud and grateful that we could finally have the TV we want/need. With the help of the sales assistants, we had everything checked. They tested the TV and all its accessories.
We were so lucky this time because it's on Sale and comes with a promo! If we will purchase the TV in full cash (they also offer installment by the way), we can avail of a FREE Sound Bar! Just wow! Another promo is that, if we will purchase the TV in full cash, we could also get a FREE 1,000php ($18) worth of appliances and school supplies of our choice.
I choose right away a flat iron and a Heater, the brand of which is Camel. The Flat iron cost 450php ($8.89), while the Heater cost 500php ($8.77), and I availed several Pens that I can use in school. With our purchase, we instantly have a new Heater, New Flat Iron, and a New 50"Quantum Smart TV with a free Soundbar. π₯³
We went home happy and didn't waste time installing the TV on our wall. I must admit the TV is quite expensive but when I looked at our daughter enjoying watching our new Television saying "Big", "Big", "Big"! I somehow think that it's worth it.
Don't you think it is?βΊοΈ
