Hi there to my long lost Hive family.
I hope that you are all well and out and about enjoying your Friday at your market wherever and whatever that may be!
So are some of you may know I LOVE LOVE LOVE OPSHOPS.
Since I started my new job in February, I have only had one period where I was able to traipse around in Melbourne with a friend who had come down to visit me and all she wanted to go do was go to the op shop‘s and during the three days she was here, we must’ve stopped in about six or seven- possibly even eight op shop‘s, but left each one with very little-
Considering I live in a big city like Melbourne and these are pretty big opshops too.
Currently being in my tiny hometown of just over 4 1/2 thousand people, today I had the opportunity to go to the op shop to drop some stuff off and had a peek around and I am so happy with the goodies that I found (very colourful clothes ofcourse..)
Now even though there’s only two tiny op shop‘s in this tiny town, I am happy to say that somehow I always get some really good stuff in them.
So for this #MarketFriday hosted by the gorgeous , this opshop that I’m showing you now is the Salvation Army and as I walked out with an arm full of goodies for $25, you've got to be happy about that!
So here are a small series of photos to show you around the shop. Enjoy.
And one of the best things about opshopping here, is the fact that the shop itself is a non-profit charity and the money goes to a good cause.
Another great thing about opshops here, is that instead of going into landfill and polluting the earth (considering there is already wayyyyyy too much man-made pollution...) we are able to re-use, recycle and even upcycle these products.
Opshops are the best outlet for fashion items. opshops are slow fashion, they are not made in bulk to be sent and hung on the shop floors in their thousands to be sold for fast profit- like fast fashion is.
I was also lucky enough to go to 2 other markets today, not opshops, but a permanent indoor and weekly Friday outdoor market, though I will have to show you around those 2 markets next Friday as they are completely different to the opshops.
Anyway, Thank you so much for reading my post, I really hope that you enjoyed it and look forward to your comments and thoughts.
