Hello Hivers! Today is Market Friday, and I haven't participated in this initiative for a long time. Not because I don't want to. But because I always forget to take photos when I go shopping.
But last Friday, it wasn't the case. I went out with my son for a drive. He is practicing to get his driving license in a couple of weeks. And we decided to go to an organic garden that a friend of mine had recommended, where they sell the veggies and harvest them on the spot.
As last Friday was PUD day, I preferred to post it today. So join me.
The site has a large garden area. Mainly green veggies. It wasn't cheap at all. But while we were there, we decided to buy a combo for 10 dollars, and for that price, we could have 6 products.
We took basil, which looked beautiful.
Also, Kale, which they had flat-leaf or curly-leaf. The girl who served us recommended that if we were not going to eat it right away, it was better to take the flat-leaf one. And we accepted her suggestion. And they harvested it for us on the spot.
We chose the lettuce to be harvested.
And we also chose some tender chard leaves.
To complete the order, we chose radishes and ciboullette.
Some areas of the garden were freshly planted. And the experience, despite the hot weather, was fun.
Aside from the organic garden area. There was a large nursery.
Also, a small area where they had some vintage items. The light was not the best at that time of the day there. So these are not my best pictures. But you can have an idea of the type of items they had, some vintage furniture, and even an antique dollhouse.
There was also an area where they sold gardening tools, which I didn't go into. It was very hot. And the heat was making me want to get out of there soon.
But there was a wide variety of aromatic herb plants in the nursery area. The small pot price was 3 dollars for each. There was rosemary, thyme, mint, tarragon, and sage to name a few. But they didn't have the one I wanted to take home. They didn't have flat-leaf or curly-leaf parsley. There were also many ornamental plants.
So finally, we paid for what we had ordered in the garden and went home with a small organic purchase. The place is not cheap at all. I wouldn't go back often. But the idea is certainly very cool.
That evening, we had a fresh salad of lettuce, radish, kale, and ciboullette which I forgot to photograph.
This is my participation in the #MarketFriday of the wonderful .
Thank you for reading.
