Hello peeps! It's my first time participating in the #MarketFriday by . I thought it would be nice to take you along as I shop for my colleagues, friends, and family.
Reflecting on my upbringing, the tradition of getting new clothes and shoes for Christmas parties with my sister, partnered with my grandmother's habit of giving gifts to all the kids in our neighborhood has left a lasting impression.
Now, as an adult, I find myself carrying on these customs, shopping for Christmas clothes and sharing gifts as a way to extend the blessings I've received.
So, in this blog, I will share not just the details of my shopping journey with my mom and sister but also the emotions and thoughts that accompany these moments.
Our Christmas Party this year has a blue and white winter theme so I decided to explore H&M and Stradivarius in search of a perfect outfit. I opted for a white sweater from Stradivarius since I couldn't resist the practicality (I can still use it in future chilly events as a lamigin tita). I skipped buying a blue top since I still had a pretty blue dress at home.
Time to buy gifts for my godchildren! As of this writing, I have 9 (nine) godchildren and most of them are boys. I'm always torn on what to give, but I always go for what makes the kids happy. Afterall, they get to experience childhood only once.
Wil found this amazing Robotic Hand that we had a great time playing with! It is good for younger kids to help them with their grasp.
While exploring the store, we stumbled upon this car with We Bear Bears as drivers. If I'm not on a budget, I'd definitely buy some for my godchildren. My godsons would love these!
This Shinchan brought memories of my own childhood. My parents and relatives always mention I loved Shinchan as a kid. I used to watch Shinchan a lot! I'm not sure if that's a good thing hahaha It's amusing how the things we enjoyed as kids resurface in unexpected ways as we grow older.
Our shopping for gifts continued as we went to Marks & Spencer to buy some gifts for my colleagues. We work remotely so we don't see each other that much. I already bought some planners in Papemelroti but I also want to give out some hand creams too.
A chance encounter with an advent calendar chocolates for kids tempted me and my sister but I hesitated. I don't want my godchildren to suffer from toothache.
Shopping for my family and relatives comes with its difficulty. I took advantage of the sale in Uniqlo and grabbed as many crew neck shirts as I could.
I also bought this Sony Earphones, complete with a year-long warranty is a practical choice.
I was looking for a power bank with built-in charging cables with a high milliampere-hour. Couldn't decide between buying a power bank from a known brand or taking a chance on a different one. Familiarity won. What about you? Do you play it safe and buy something familiar or go for the unknown brand?
I was also trying to find an Eevie toy for Bunbun but when I came across one, I was totally surprised by the price. Lol. I treat my sister when I can, but this one's too pricey for a stuffed toy.
In the midst of looking for a gift for Bunbun, the coin bank caught my eye. Reminds me that I need one for my spare change. Whenever I have some extra coins, I make a habit of setting them aside.
I also came across these Among Us figures that brought back memories of Bunbun playing with me and my Hive PH friends. I already bought her some Among Us figures last year so I skipped this one.
For the rest of my family, I promised to get whatever they want when we go out before Christmas. My sister wanted shoes so we went to every Shoe store. My eyes were glued to this New Balance pair but I decided I didn't need it yet. Bunbun got a Pokemon toy at a toy shop with a 50% off sign.
This is just a snippet of my overall Christmas haul. December was so busy for me that I didn't get to post this on time.
Thanks for reading!!
How about you, what did you get for Christmas gifts?
Until my next Market Friday entry!
