Since I live rurally, I'm not always able to participate in #MarketFriday run by the lovely ! But for the last two weeks, and for a few more, I have enough from our travels to share!!! I'm excited!!
In this post. you'll get to see a taste of London from my eyes, we went to shops and we did some sight-seeing, and saw landmarks and even went to the theatre at night!!
Let's see how much Dreemie London you can handle! hehe
Once again we took the train! But we ended up talking more than taking photos (the best way to travel- I say!!), so let's just head to where we are on the streets!
We noticed a shop called HAPPY and HAD to get a picture in front of it because that aptly described the mood those days! There is just something about being with special friends and traveling that make memories so treasured!!
There are lots of "typical" shops that you see in every big city, but I like the unusual!! I want to experience something that I don't see everyday! So when I saw the wizard shop...heheh I had to check it out! and of course... wizard? England? gotta be Harry Potter.. lol. Correct!
Take a guess at how much these goblets will run you! hehe. Well you can see on the picture! 65 pounds!!! But if you are a Potter head, I have to say these are worth the price for something so unique! The detail that went into making each one!!! I was spell-bound!! Good thing I got out of the store before that spell worked because I admired 5 of them! hahaha
Of course, then you DO end up getting pulled into the typical souvenir shops! This one boasted of having sports paraphernalia...and I wanted to see if I could find some Liverpool gear so I could send a snap to !!! We looked up and down the aisles of this store and finally found the gear! hehehe. I know nothing of football! All I know is that this picture would make my Kene smile!!! hehehe
We were getting peckish but didn't feel like stopping to eat a proper meal.. Solution? CHOCOLATE!! A three story shop dedicated to M&Ms??? Let's do it! hehehe Now you might be thinking..with all the amazing chocolate in England, you went to buy American chocolate??? hahahahaha Well, it was there and I wanted chocolate...so...YES.
Look at that wall of chocolate!!! hehe Every color you can imagine! This was only one wall..and I think there were four!!! hahaha. The marketing gurus of M&M know what they are doing!!! Because buying the hand picked colors cost almost 10x more than buying the pre-selected bags!
And you can see which one of us fell prey to the marketing gimmick and which one of us was practical!!! 🤣 but but but...in my defense...my bag was an assortment of shades and hues of blues and Sooooo pretty!!! But...he was right, in our bellies, they tasted the same. 😝 The other variety in my hand... some salted caramel M&Ms. They were YUM!!!! Now we had chocolate to fuel us further! So we walked on!!! The sky was cooperating that day to give us really beautiful shots as we continued our way sight seeing!!!
Can you see who I see? hehehe I'll come back and give 3HBI to whoever tells me who the status represents FIRST! HINT: She is "practically perfect in every way" hehehe good luck! 🥰
And...yep... that is Big Ben!!! LEGO Big Ben! hehe My son LOVES Legos!!! So I had to grab this picture for him!!! I can't even imagine how long this would take to build ...and, all along the way, I can't imagine how many straggling pieces left on the floor got stepped on with bare feet!!! hahahaha Pretty cool though, right???
This picture above makes me laugh!!!!! We wanted to get a shot of us in Chinatown! and this was a great opportunity - BUT we had to kinda stand in the middle of the road... lol. The light was red so we chanced it quickly!!! Not quick enough because you can see the light had changed and the driver had no impatience for silly tourists haha. We hopped out of the way right after we snapped the shot! lol
and then we found another place to take a pic of Chinatown a bit more safely...hehehe Probably a better shot too!!! Just goes to show you .. don't risk yourself for a silly shot! lol Take time to be smart and any picture worthwhile will make itself available! hehe.
Must stop and snap pics of ALL lions and tigers!!! This particular lion is a Bronze Lion Statue by Sir Edward Lanseer. Majestic, yes?? Like @tengolotodo...I am a proud LEO. (and I have the mane to prove it...hahahaha but you have to catch me BEFORE my flat iron to see it lololol) This lion is one of the statues in Trafalgar Square! and... if you have keen eyesight - I'm sure you spotted the REAL Big Ben in the background! hehe
Some more shots of the square..and us...and us in the square below! 😄 King George IV on horseback in the distance - and Admiral Beatty Memorial Fountain.
We paused to enjoy this street performer, and I so enjoyed him!!! I could have stayed even longer and just got a cup of hot cocoa to keep me warm and listened to his whole concert! If you want to hear him sing, then be sure to tune into my #ttt Three Tune Tuesday next week! hehe!
And you can see... I was chilly! and as far as the street performer- I'm sure his hands were cold!!! making it difficult to play guitar and keep his vocal cords warm! but he won me over ! I was so invested in this little mini concert.. heheh. I love musicians. I am one...so I understand what goes into performing. How much heart is there, how much need for connecting with people who appreciate...he had a great voice, and loved the emotion he conveyed. He made the songs his own also...I liked that he added his own style!
One final shot just in time for Valentine's
The rest of the day continued with us exploring and eating and then finalizing the day with the theatre! but....that will be part 2 for next week! If you enjoy this one, come back for more next #MarketFriday!! hehe
