Hello everyone!
It is my pleasure to take part in the #marketfriday community. Thanks to for coming up with this idea that allows us to share and learn about shopping places around the world.
In this post, I will share with you something that gives me great delight and pleasure: shopping for groceries; yes, shopping for groceries in big supermarkets and grocery stores! Silly, isn't it? Yes, but I feel very much at home in supermarkets.I enjoy the abundance of products and the variety of brands and deals. I am fascinated by the service and all the conveniences provided to customers to make them feel satisfied. So, I often find myself taking pictures of items and shelves. This is something I genuinely enjoy.
I am sure that shopping for groceries is a very “neutral” or even “boring” activity for most people. I know that it is maybe hard for people to see the point of what I am trying to express here, and I totally understand it. I would feel the same; I mean, it would be very difficult for me to empathize if I had never experienced a situation of shortage of basic goods or hyperinflation. But unfortunately, to my misfortune, I do know what it feels like to go to a supermarket where what you will find are empty shelves or no stock at all.I experienced that in my country, Venezuela.
So, since I left my home back there, I always felt the need of taking pictures of the grocery store shelves because it really made me feel relieved, on one side, and grateful to be there, on the other side. It was like a kind of inner “triumph”, I must admit: having bypassed a situation of misery and scarcity. Silly me! But it is what it is. Here are some of the photos I still keep with me.
A supermarket in Bogotá, Colombia. I had to go to that country to get my USA visa as there is no US Embassy in Venezuela.
A grocery store in Chinatown, New York.
My favorite section in supermarkets: Fish and Seafood Section.
My second favorite section in a supermarket😇😁
Variety in all brands and types of products
I love Sushi.I felt I was in the Sushi Paradise.
Unlike most of my friends who love shopping for clothes and shoes, I love shopping for groceries at supermarkets. However, I really enjoy the look of confusion on their faces when I tell them that I love going to supermarkets and that it makes me really contented going there./div>
