One Sunday, I was in Hong Kong Park, wandering and wondering. It's been one of my favorite parks ever since I discovered it a month ago. The place helps me reconnect with nature and feel relaxed. There are different facilities in the park, too. I also discovered a museum near the lake. After visiting the museum, I walked to check out the array of umbrella tents I saw from the opposite side.
Since it was nearly five in the afternoon, some stalls were closed, and some were about to. A little bazaar was set up in the park in connection with the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival. I heard there will be more bazaars and shows for this upcoming festival, which is also part of the campaign to revitalize Hong Kong nightlife. I'm looking forward to seeing them.
This bazaar in Hong Kong Park is just a small one located outside the Tea Museum near the lake. So it's easy to spot it and stop over to check out the interesting items on display. One thing I noticed was that the vendors in this small bazaar are old ones, so I thought this was just part of the park's events for the upcoming festival, not a sponsored bazaar.
Some of the items on display include hand-made accessories and keychains, as well as souvenir items, wallets, and paintings. An old man also makes caricature paintings for customers that only cost HK$80. He accepts online orders by sending the photo via WhatsApp.
These vintage cameras caught my attention. These are pre-loved refurbished cameras. These can also be pre-ordered by sending a message to the vendor via his WhatsApp number. There are lenses for sale as well.
My favorite items on display are the paintings of Hong Kong's iconic locations. Unfortunately, the price of each painting was quite expensive for me, costing more than HK$400. They are actually good displays at home after framing them. But I do know where to buy less expensive paintings in Hong Kong with smaller sizes.
After checking out this small bazaar, strolling around the whole park is the ideal thing to do. There's a tranquil lake and pretty waterfalls nearby, a conservatory, an aviary, playgrounds, and fitness stations. This park has now become one of my favorite spots in Central. You'll find out my complete blog about this place one of these days.
Thanks for your time.
