Hello everyone, it's time for an inspiring #MarketFriday challenge by and this time with lots of snow!
I spent the last few days on Tara mountain. When we arrived it was a very warm day, but on the last day of our stay it snowed, to the great joy of my children.
We were accommodated in the Omorika hotel located in the natural forest environment of Tara mountain.
It is an old hotel that was built in the 70s of the 20th century and has been a favorite vacation spot in Serbia of many generations for 50 years. I often went there with my parents when I was a child, and now I am very happy to take my children there. The hotel is old but has a soul and the prices are affordable, unlike other hotels in Serbia that are much more expensive.
The stay per person and per day costs about 35 euros. And food is included in that price. Delicious and varied food.
In front of the hotel you can rent skis and ski on the trails of this beautiful mountain.
The snow brought a lot of joy.
My son enjoyed the sledding and my daughter was confused by so much whiteness.
But she loved it when she lay down in the snow for the first time. 😊
And it really is a beautiful feeling when you are surrounded by whiteness or when you step into untouched snow for the first time and leave your footprints.
We walked through the forest and enjoyed snow activities.
This is the first snow of this winter and we have been waiting for it for a long time because we are used to having it much earlier. When you leave the forest at the end of the forest path, you will reach the road and the forest market.
I love this market because you can buy a lot of quality domestic products here.
There are mostly juices and jams made from forest fruits, honey and traditional juniper drink "rakija" - brandy.
You can also buy here a natural remedy for lung diseases, syrup from young pine shoots. I bought a jar of this syrup because my son coughs a lot and it cost only 3 euros.
At Tara market you can buy beautiful traditional dishes for preparing food as well as souvenirs.
There are also my favorite meat products and prosciutto, which is especially delicious on the mountain.
Here you can buy the best cheese and many other traditional products.
Tara is full of medicinal herbs that smell so good all year round, so the market also sells various teas made from a combination of these herbs.
I love handwork and always buy something knitted from wool.
This time I bought a hair band for 2,5 euros.
I liked it very much and it kept me warm while it snowed more and more.
After a long walk, we entered the hotel to freshen up. I ordered a fruit salad.
In this hotel, the desserts are very affordable and the offer is large.
And it's time to go home, to Belgrade. We said goodbye to the snow and fresh air and took a bit of nature with us, pine syrup and pine cones that my son had been collecting. 😊
Thank you very much for reading.
The images and writing are original and mine.
Greetings!
Jelena
