One of the many attractions of walking through that Center of Madrid, which due to its character and monumentality, also carries implicitly the name of 'Madrid de los Austrias', is that you never know what surprises you may find.
Artisan associations, mostly made up of small businesses and freelancers, have spent many years trying to survive on the effort of their creative handicrafts and do not always have a space to interact with an audience, which generally tends to be seduced by these products, of limited and sustainable manufacturing, which without being luxurious or excessively expensive, tend to generate fashions and good acceptance.
Perhaps for this reason, in order to make the survival of these small businesses more sustainable, both the City Council and the government of the Community of Madrid allow, under certain conditions, the holding of small markets - on the other hand, increasingly popular - in the most charismatic and picturesque places in the city, outside the regulations of the area established for major festivities, such as Christmas.
In this sense, I am pleased to show you this small market, installed in one of the most popular and frequented places in Madrid: the Plaza de Isabel II.
Better known, perhaps, by Ópera -name of the Metro station installed in the same square- the presence of the market, possibly supposes another attraction, in contrast to one of the most relevant cultural places in the capital, such as the Royal Theater, whose elegant classicist-inspired design evokes, like the great opera classics that pass through its lofty stages, a whole world of ancient but beautiful connotations, which like the artisan world, also refuses to cease to exist.
