When it comes to shopping for necessities, in today's world there are plenty of ways to access them. In-person purchases in large or small stores, in street markets or on the Internet move a lot of money between buyers and sellers every day. Of course, you can also find different qualities and prices on these items that interest us: it is only a matter of looking for those that are within our reach and that meet our expectations. In my case, I like to buy new and useful things everywhere, but I also enjoy going to used things fairs to see what 'treasures' I can rescue at a good price ❤️.
Cuando se trata de ir a comprar artículos necesarios, en el mundo actual existen un montón de formas de acceder a ellos. Las compras presenciales en grandes tiendas o pequeñas, en mercados ambulantes o por Internet día a día mueven mucho dinero entre compradores y vendedores. Por supuesto, también se pueden encontrar distintas calidades y precios sobre estos artículos que nos interesan: solo es cuestión de buscar aquellos que estén al alcance de nuestro bolsillo y que cumplan con nuestras expectativas. En mi caso, a mí me gusta comprar en todos lados, cosas nuevas y útiles, pero también disfruto dar una vuelta por las ferias de cosas usadas para ver que 'tesoros' puedo rescatar a buen precio ❤️.
One of the fairs that I like to visit the most is this one that is held quite close to where I live. This fair is installed around the train station mainly on Saturdays, but you can also find some merchants on Wednesdays. Starting early in the morning, each merchant arrives with their items to sell and arranges his stall, exposing everything they have to sell ❤️.
Una de las ferias que más me gusta visitar es esta que se hace bastante cerca de donde yo vivo. Esta feria se instala en los alrededores de la estación del tren principalmente los días sábados, pero también se pueden encontrar algunos comerciantes los días miércoles. Empezando desde primera hora de la mañana, cada comerciante llega con sus artículos para vender y acomoda su puesto exponiendo todo lo que tienen para vender ❤️.
In this fair you can find all kinds of items, clothing being the most popular. Here you can also find shoes, toys, household items and even non-perishable food. All these things are always at a good price and since there are so many stallholders, if you are looking for something specific, you will surely find it. The only thing recommended is that you have patience to go look for it 😅.
En esta feria podés encontrar todo tipo de artículos, siendo la ropa el más popular. Acá también se pueden encontrar calzados, juguetes, articulos del hogar e incluso alimentos no perecederos. Todas estas cosas siempre estan a buen precio y como hay tantos feriantes, si estás buscando algo específico seguro lo encuentres. Lo único recomendado es que tengas paciencia para ir a buscarlo 😅.
This fair is five blocks long and is characterized by the sale of second-hand things. Near my house there is also another fair that is just as big, but in which they sell new articles and clothes, as well as plants, fruits and vegetables. But this sector is dedicated exclusively to cheaper things and I think that the fact that it is so crowded is a clear sign of our economic situation at a society level. There are those who have a job being fairgrounds and that is their daily livelihood, so for me this is a job like any other. I think that currently we all search for money because there is never enough and I don't think there is anything wrong with buying in these types of open-air markets.
Esta feria tiene una longitud de cinco cuadras y se caracteriza por la venta de cosas de segunda mano. Cerca de mi casa también hay otra feria igual de grande, pero en la que venden artículos y ropas nuevas, y también plantas, frutas y verduras. Pero este sector es dedicado exclusivamente a cosas más económicas y creo que el hecho de que sea tan concurrida es una clara muestra de nuestra situación económica a nivel sociedad. Hay quienes tienen de ocupación ser feriantes y ese es su sustento diario, por lo que para mí este es un trabajo como cualquier otro. Creo que actualmente todos nos rebuscamos para que alcance el dinero porque nunca sobra y no me parece que tenga algo malo comprar en este tipo de mercados al aire libre.
Personally, what I like to buy the most is nice clothes at a good price. I've been going to the fair for quite a few years, so I have an eye for finding clothes with a lot of potential. I don't like that the clothes are torn or faded or that they are from too outdated eras. Since my style of clothing is quite classic, every time I go there I find something that I like. I think that all these items have been around over time due to fast-fashion, that consumer trend that forces you to buy and change outfits all the time. I don't get carried away by that: if something is nice and usable within my own criteria, I have no problem buying it and of course I don't care if it comes from the fair, and on the contrary, it makes me happier if I can get it at a good price 😃.
En lo personal, lo que más me gusta comprar es ropa linda y a buen precio. Llevo bastantes años yendo a la feria, así que tengo un buen ojo para encontrar prendas con mucho potencial. No me gusta que la ropa esté rota ni percudida ni tampoco que sean de épocas demasiado desactualizadas. Como mi estilo de vestir es bastante clásico, cada vez que voy encuentro algo que me guste. Pienso que todos estos artículos van dando vueltas a lo largo del tiempo debido al fast-fashion, esa tendencia consumista que te obliga a comprar y cambiar de atuendo todo el tiempo. Yo no me dejo llevar por eso: si algo es lindo y usable dentro de mis propios criterios, no tengo problema en comprarlo y por supuesto no me importa si proviene de la feria, y al contrario, me hace más feliz si puede conseguirlo a buen precio 😃.
Regarding prices, this fair is really cheap and you can find things starting at 200 ARS (approx. 0.25 USD) or in some cases, even for less. You just have to take the trouble to go and see, ask, examine the clothes and if you like them, buy them. This is a typical Saturday morning walk with a member of my family who is visiting my house: by the way we go out to get some air and see what good things are selling that day. Sometimes I directly force myself not to go to the fair because I end up buying things that maybe I don't exactly need, but on other occasions I got really good things like coats, dresses, t-shirts, and pullovers. I also got clothes to recycle or fabrics to use in other projects, which is cheaper than buying loose pieces.
En lo que respecta a precios, esta feria es realmente económica y podes encontrar cosas a partir de los 200 ARS (0.25 USD aprox) o en algunos casos, incluso por menos. Solo hay que tomarse el trabajo de ir y ver, preguntar, examinar las prendas y si te gustan, comprarlas. Este es un típico paseo de sábado a la mañana con algún miembro de mi familia que esté de visita en mi casa: de paso salimos a tomar un poco de aire y ver qué cosas buenas estan vendiendo ese día. A veces directamente me obligo a no ir a la feria porque termino comprando cosas que quizás no necesito exactamente, pero en otras oportunidades conseguí cosas muy buenas como abrigos, vestidos, remeras y pullovers. También conseguí prendas para reciclar o telas para aprovechar en otrls proyectos, lo que resulta más económico que comprar retazos sueltos.
The last time I went to the fair I didn't buy any clothes, but I did get a set of hangers to organize my wardrobe with some clothes bought at the fair on other occasions 😅. For a long time I wanted to buy hangers of the same color, because over the years I was gathering a hanger of each style and I no longer liked how it looked. These eight black hangers cost me 500 ARS (0.75 USD) and now this space looks neater. As you can see, I don't have a place to hang anything anymore, so coat shopping is on hold for now 😅.
La última vez que fui a la feria no compré nada de ropa, pero si conseguí un juego de perchas para organizar mi guardarropas con algunas prendas compradas en la feria en otras ocasiones 😅. Hace tiempo quería comprar perchas del mismo color, porque con los años fui reuniendo una percha de cada estilo y ya no me gustaba como se veía. Estas ocho perchas negras me costaron 500 ARS (0.75 USD) y ahora este espacio se ve más ordenado. Como verán, ya no tengo más lugar para colgar nada, así que la compra de abrigos está suspendida por el momento 😅.
I think there are people who don't like to wear second-hand clothes because they have already been worn before, but I think that if they are in good condition they deserve to continue in the arena. I believe a lot in the energies of people, and that is why when I bring something from these markets, I take care of infusing it to remove the energy from its previous owner and to recharge it with mine (and of course afterwards I wash everything with a lot of soap and water 🤣). I also like to think that these markets allow good things to continue to be used instead of ending up in the trash. Without a doubt, this business is a good deal for wallets and also for the environment 😃.
Creo que hay personas que no les gusta usar ropa de segunda mano por ya haber sido usadas anteriormente, pero yo creo que si estan en buen estado merecen seguir en el ruedo. Yo creo mucho en las energías de las personas, y es por eso que cuando traigo algo de estos mercados, me encargo de sahumarlo para quitar al energía de su anterior dueño y que se recargue con la mía (y por supuesto después lavo todo con mucha agua y jabón 🤣). También me gusta pensar que estos mercados permiten que las cosas en buen estado sigan en uso en lugar de terminar en la basura. Sin dudas, este negocio es un buen trato para las billeteras y también para el medio ambiente 😃.
