Hello Hive.
To be honest there is usually a lot of buying and selling during this season that we often forget the importance and reason for the season.
People shop for clothes, shoes and foodstuff to celebrate Christmas.
Alot of cooking and merriment characterize the season and although people try to show love go others by sharing their food and other stuff but it is important that we sit to give a sober reflection of what we are celebration.
The true meaning of Christmas lies in the fact that God loves us and gave his only son for us to be sacrifice as a lamb to wash away our sins, that is faith of everyone.
And the reason for the season is for us to rejoice and be glad that indeed the son of God was born for us in this season.
It is Jesus birthday and if we want celebrate him, you can think of also giving a worthy sacrifice after the example of God by going all out to help those in need and difficult times.
Help people with your food, cloth shelter and even a little time to sit and comfort those in need.
Let our celebrations not be restricted to eating and drinking alone.
In this regard and in Africa, especially my country, I grew to know that the only things people should do on Christmas is to buy new clothes, cook every kind of dish and enjoy some meals with our family.
People go all outside their budget just to meet this demand to buy food and cloth, apparently before Christmas is over or before the middle of January they run into serious debt.
Do not restrict Christmas to these mere surface celebration which for these reasons, the price of everything in the market like this where I purchase fabrics becomes multiplied because everyone is in a race to sew new clothes for themselves and their families.
