Today is @MarketFriday. Hello friends.
This is my participation in the #MarketFriday challenge by hope you are well.
I must confess that waiting for a family member or friend to get off the plane makes me desperate.
Last Friday was no exception. My partner and I flew from Caracas to La Guaira, where the international airport Maiquetía is located. What brought us to the airport was the arrival of 2 friends from Madrid. The flight was scheduled for 3:00 pm and was delayed for an hour and a half.
My partner and I started joking around and pretended that he was arriving from a trip so we could feel the excitement, and I even took a picture of him.
Then we decided to go for a coffee
Then we decided to go for a coffee
Very close to the waiting room there were 3 options for coffee, we opted for the one that was the emptiest. A small café called "Hecho en Venezuela" (Made in Venezuela)
Double surprise
Double surprise
The Venezuelan economy is not easy to understand; there is a lot of price speculation. Usually at the airport food is more expensive, however, we were surprised because it was much cheaper than in some bakeries in Caracas. On the other hand, the cookies we consumed were bought at another store because the price was twice as expensive there as in Caracas.
The wait was made more bearable while we enjoyed a snack.I liked the taste of the coffee, but my partner did not like the taste. He drinks more coffee than I do, which means that he is a better coffee taster.
The place is cozy and the guy who served us was friendly and pleasant to deal with, customer service is an unsuspected factor that I consider to return.
In addition to coffee, they sell some typical Venezuelan objects made by indigenous people, such as handbags made of an organic plant-based material, hammocks, earrings, sandals.
The prices of hammocks and handbags were 15% more expensive than those available in the city of Caracas, the capital of Venezuela.
If there is something that catches my attention are the mugs, I saw two designs that I loved, the prices were not cheap. I did not buy them.
We spent 45 minutes there, we went to see the flight board and finally had arrived. Within 15 minutes our friends were already with us.
