It's another awesome Market Friday in this part of the world and I wanted to share another memorable market experience. Investopedia defined market as "a place where buyers and sellers can meet to facilitate the exchange or transaction of goods and services" [1]. The market I'm taking you today might be a little different from the one I share two weeks ago, but this market's just as mind-boggling as any other market I've been.
A couple of years back, we went to Bangkok to represent our food manufacturing company in THAIFEX. We went with the rest of the Philippine delegation represented through Brandexports Philippines Inc. We were working with them for our exports and since our bosses won't be around, it's best we go with people who are familiar with the nuts and bolts of THAIFEX and Thailand in general.
Aside from the food, one thing that makes my heart flutter when in Bangkok is shopping 😉 It's not like I'm a huge fan of shopping. I rarely go to shopping malls but during this trip, shopping was the only thing we could do. For 3 consecutive days, we spent 8-5 in THAIFEX bringing in new opportunities for our company. Hence, we only got to enjoy Thailand in the evening. Gladly, we stayed at Arnoma Grand Bangkok which is a walking distance from The Palladium World Shopping. We couldn't make it on time for shopping at The Palladium but night markets opened right after the shopping center closes.
After having our dinner nearby, we went shopping. I've been to countless night markets in Cebu but Thailand's was enormous. At first, we were just shopping for ourselves and our families but when we found out that the prices were affordable, we asked our workmates and friends if they want to buy. Of course, there's a little mark-up for the baggage fee. Wide arrays of men and women clothing from simple shirts, blouses to dresses, leggings, shoes, wallets, bags and customizable wallet holders and the ever famous bojo pants. And their backpacks were insanely affordable and durable. Actually, we shopped every single night we were in Thailand because orders kept coming in! Haha The thing about Thailand's products was the quality. You wouldn't thing that they're sold at a low price because the quality's on point! I regretted buying only a few items for myself. I ended up filling my entire large luggage with the clothes and other items I bought from the night market haha
If you ever visit Thailand, don't forget to visit their night markets (if there are still any at this point in time). 😊
